I'm looking for 62-65 motor mount brackets for 318 poly, 361, or 383 - they should all be the same.
The slant 6 and hemi mounts will not work for me.
I do not need the insulators that connect the two brackets on each side of the engine.
Thanks for the replies gentlemen. I don't yet know how much horsepower the engige will ultimately have, and I want to spend money wisely, and just once. The 742 seems like an upgraded 741 so it seems like the 741 would have been phased-out a lot sooner than it was without some kind of...
I have a 741 case. I'm wondering why the 741 would continue to be used along with the 742 case when the 742 case is stronger? The two cases don't seem to be different enough to make a materially difference in cost. Could the 741 have an advantage over the 742 such as having lower friction?
My 62 won't be having a scoop
I want the sleeper look. I will build-up the engine at some point, but I won't be putting in a scoop. I'd rather "cheat" with a procharger and/or nitrous than put a scoop on.
If my car had a scoop when I bought it, I'd still be happy with the car as I think...
How does it stop compared with a modern car
How does it stop compared with a modern car of the same weight (best guess)?
I assume the single diaphragm contributes less power than a dual diaphram, but I don't know if that assumption is generally true or not.
the fluid is muddy so I'm guessing that's contributing
but I live at the top of a two-mile climb, so whenever I drive from my house it's two continous miles of braking before I get a chance to hit the gas.
I know I want a dual master cylinder and a booster so I'm ready to make those changes...
I want the booster so that my wife and daughter can drive it
it takes all my strength to hold the car at a standstill now and I'm not a small guy. I'm fairly certain a new master cylinder together with disc brakes will be fun to drive, but I want the booster so that my wife and daughter can...
I cannot hold the car at a stop light when facing downhill - the idle in neutral is 850-900 rpms.
I have manual drum brakes and want to upgrade to discs on all four tires, replace the single master cylinder with a dual cylinder, and add a brake booster.
I need help with which brake...
Thanks. I think I have it figured out. I can swap the entire 742 or 489 center aka third members and that will work fine, but can't swap parts pinion and gears from 742 or 489 into a 741.
I have a 741 rear axle and would like to keep the original rear axle, but also have it be stronger than stock. I understand that the pinion is the main or only difference between the three rear axles is the pinion diameter.
Can a 741 case be machined to fit a 742 or 489 pinion?
I've...
