Yeah, the RPM was 6000 — when she glanced at the tach on its way up to 7,000+. She drove the Charger like her Porsche. You can take revs up to 7,000 easy on a flat 6 no prob — different animal when you jump into the Mopar….

Asking for a friend — no really! . Teflon tape used to seal threads in fuel line fitting onto carb. After several months — car mostly sitting — leak reappears. I know teflon tape is compatible with gas but is there a more resilient or effective material alternative? Thanks in advance for any...

‘Warm’ oil pressure should read 40-45 psi under normal cruising. Any chance it’s got 5+ qrts. added? Also, high viscosity could increase. I seem to recall oil weights dropping due to improved formulas and additives. I used to run 20W-50 in my 383 RR, but switched to a more moderate 10W-20...

I purchased my ‘69 RR in H.S. in 1978 while in the Oklahoma City area. I still have after all these years. I remember the original Plymouth draler sticker on the left trunk side. I don’t recall name but I do know the dealer was located in Lawton OK. I also seem the think the dealer name started...

If motor is stock — go with Rallye wheel (but 15-in.). The design mass of new fuselage body needs to be balanced by larger wheel/tire combination. If motor is ‘dressed-up’ with mods — switch to 15-in. Cragers. Key is to keep theme consistent. Nice ride!

BTW, attach chain to chassis and lay on ground under car to ‘ground’ car to earth. Helps reduce moisture and dust attraction. (Helps when painting also…). If using jack stands, no need for chain. Also, I place a large box of cat litter inside on back seat even when storing in garage over winter...

Scan eBay and local salvage yards for a 383 c.i. motor. Also, scan YouTube and find channels of guys hoarding tons of Mopar motors and parts. There are several and may be close to you. Chrysler made over a million 383’s from ‘59 to ‘73(?). Try to get at block, heads, intake/exhaust manifold...

My uncle traded in a ‘62 Vette for a new ‘68 RR. Drove it to show my parents. I remember him driving it up the driveway revving the 383 and honking the horn. I was hooked at 6-yrs. of age. In ‘78 I got mine while growing ip in OK. Paid $500. Now, 45-yrs. later, it’s still in my garage. Beep beep!

Just purchased a 26-in. aluminum radiator from Year One for my ‘69 RR. I would like to keep the ‘natural’ aluminum finish. Can I simply install without painting or coating? Will the aluminum surfer any oxidation if I don’t paint or coat the metal? Thanks.
