    1971 383?

A 440 I recently built for a demo car {75 New Yorker}. Known for breaking the engine mount castings from block when hit, most don't run B/RB's. But I modified the spool mounts and drilled block above pan rail and supported mounts at bottom of block also. Out of 23 cars he placed 3rd, mounts...

    1971 383?

Finished, A complete number matching engine that had real low miles. Std crank, Std Bore, all housing bores measured on the money. Reused pistons, rods, same heads, same block, reused the 574 cam-had it redone at Delta Cam Tacoma. Cylinder heads completely rebuilt, new springs, valves, seats...

    1971 383?

After using my shop 3,500 psi steam cleaner on block and other parts, it revealed some hand swabbed letters on the side of block-plus all eight rods are copper clad. I don't find that odd because engine manufactures years ago did that. I've found those in all types of engines. All housing bores...

    1971 383?

Ran a flex hone through bores to get a better view and remeasured--in real nice condition along with the crank. Crank measured on the high side of tolerance on every journal, really in premium condition for the oil used and filtration back then. Even though I removed a cheap $1.50 Coast to Coast...

In a lot of ways that's correct, although I have run across several from wrecks that are viable. Just way too much money. Cat is offering pre-emission C-15's at a premium price--50K plus a 20K core charge, so figure 70K with no core. A platinum rebuild at Cat is 45K minimum. Cummins X15-45K...

    1971 383?

The well varnished parts and pieces from setting 40 years. Plus I have the pick of a bunch of other B/RB engines, 3-440's, 2-413's, 2-400's and a several 727's.

There is still a call for them, I would rebuild some C15's but core prices are way out of line, like a lot of things. I have people asking for engines but good cores are getting hard to find so it really isn't worth the time. And what is left are cores that are too expensive needing way too...

It has a steel crank--obvious by machining and it has a nice ring to it. I ran a Van Norman 448 crank grinder years ago. Only photo I have right now when it was still setting in the 66 New Yorker.

And my final photos, I started this project in 2017. 1960 B75 Model Mack. I manufactured the frame & all crossmembers, grille, bumper, mirror brackets, steering adaption to power, all linkages, interior, Hood & fender extensions. It's the only true/major stretch hood B model Mack ever built, I...

A typical rebuild of mine--a Big Cam III 400, with some additions to make 460 HP and 1550 torque. One of five I built in the two years after retirement for something to do. Just built as spec engines, sold each one in less than 36 hours.
