Its probably not something muscle car hobbyist are worried about but myself, as a licensed tech in a licensed garage, I can tell you guys 100% most shops check for purity before servicing A/C, and on a regular basis, we find contaminated systems from people using these "autoparts blend cans"...
Alright
Great discussion eh ! So far I have searched twice for this illusive wing nut to no avail. I hope its only $3.00. I kill eventually find it and update here
Thanks
If I can ask you, what type of air cleaner is on that Hurst 300?
Would anyone know if the chrome top I have is original to something? Or was it custom? I can tell you it weighs a ton.
Honest answer, I did look for it yesterday and it was not where I thought it would be ...
I sold most of my cars a couple years back and have been cleaning and selling off parts since. Every winter I clean up my mezzanine so I am due to get on my hands and knees and look for that bugger. I know...

The solid one looks exactly what I remember... but I am older then dirt and my memory is not what it was.
I appreciate your help, I need to get this intake assembly properly identified.
Yes, I guess I should have been clearer. The stud puctured is not the original as it did not have a wingnut when I got the assembly (as pictured) and was obvious to me its a threaded rod. It was the other one that is not shown that I know was there before - guilty as charged, I took it off a...
