it is important for a few reasons.
1.) you want the rain or any water to go out the weep holes on the bottom of the door instead of leaking into the car and causing any real rust.
2.)
you are the man! It took me a long time to find someone that could verify this. It also the;;s ,e that the repos on the market are all wrong. they are making them with chrome centers. to many, it may not make a difference, but to me, it does. When I am done with this restoration, this car will...
I would appreciate it if you can look real close to tell me for sure. I have someone telling me that for sure they were painted silver Argent on the 67’s. Chrome should be easy to tell. Whatever it was, mine wore off. But that’s what tells me that it might be paint. Looking forward to hearing...
Hello All. I guess the only person that will be able to answer this will have to either have a 1967 GTX survivor car or is the lucky recipient of a 1 owner car. I need to know if the non AC car heater control slider knobs have chromed centers or silver Argent painted centers from the factory...
Exactly! Mine was built for the Seattle, WA. Dealer. That is why I do t think mine is supposed to get it. The fact that someone said that as of 1/1/67, all 440’s and Hemi cars received the cap provision is simply not true.
I just received an email from Frank Badalson who showed me a 1967 GTX 440 4spd with 9,000 mi. And is a 1 owner car. The build date was March 67 and didn’t have the CAP provision. So go figure!
Interesting! I wonder if Frank Badalson or Tony D’Agostino would know? My guru, Jim Drain who eats, craps and restores the B Bodies for over 50 yrs. Says also that from 1/2/67 on they all got the provision for the hose connecting th Air Breather to the Air Cleaner. But then again, the tail light...
For all I know, it did! When i purchased it 3 yrs ago, the 440 was all geared up to race 1/4 mile. I traced the car all the way back to the 2nd owner in the state of Washington. He knew the original owner, who was his fathers friend. he had just passed away. i had to tear down the entire engine...
that makes total sense. i think I am just going to leave it be for now until i cqn look into this further. i won't be wrong either way, especially since it was built in the LA plant in Dec. 66.
If so, that would be correct. But mine was built for a dealer in Seattle, WA. in December 1966. There is a very good chance that since they changed the law as of 1/1/67 to give all 67's an Air Cleaner that accepts the hose to Air Breather, that mine did get it also. But without a window sticker...
