2 quick questions before changing intake manifold gasket

Thanks for the tip but i'm not looking to block off the heat riser ports as this is bad for starting in the cold (afaik).

2 quick questions before changing intake manifold gasket

I'm a bit confused because you say right front side of the carb but after some googling i think you mean the thing i marked with a red circle? And if i'm understanding correctly the vaccum line that is connected to that is also connected directly to the carb and i remove it from the carb and...

2 quick questions before changing intake manifold gasket

I will keep using the stock manifold. So what vaccum reading would be good/normal? Also is the port on the carb visible in the picture i attached to the first post?

Pictures from recent Mopar Nationals in Germany

No. Unfortunately most of the really interesting shows are pretty far away. I went to another one last weekend but unfortunately about 90% modern cars. Thankfully it was at a gigantic museum so i was still able to see a lot of classic cars and go inside a concorde: US-Car Treffen | Technik...

I just found out about this ultimate sleeper build from the 80s

The left car in the Picture is actually a 1986 Corvette C4 Convertible: They put the body from an Opel Kadett E on top of it and Callaway did some performance upgrades to the engine so it makes 306hp. The Opel Kadett E was basically in the same class as a VW Rabbit and a popular car in...

Idle rpm drops substantially when putting car in gear

I bought both fel pro and mahle valley pan gaskets from rockauto because i was worried one might not fit very well. Today i recieved my fel pro gasket and another fel pro gasket in a mahle box. Both gaskets seem to have light wear & tear (like light scratches etc.) on them. Correct me if i'm...

Idle rpm drops substantially when putting car in gear

I think it will be a good idea to disconnect the cruise control unit and replace the check valve just to be sure. I just ordered parts but it can take a while until i get them.

Idle rpm drops substantially when putting car in gear

Well i already found two vaccum leaks (the intake even leaks on both sides) so i don't think that further diagnosis is needed at this point. I mean sure maybe there is even more wrong but i will start with those two leaks. Personally i don't really expect more to be wrong (timing, carb tuning...

Idle rpm drops substantially when putting car in gear

Did they use RTV and/or paper gaskets at the factory? What exactly did the factory use/do?
