My Crank pulley does not seem to fit..it is a 4 groove, 7 1/4 inch diameter that when using a 5 3/4 diameter water pump pulley barely has enough room to slip the alternator belt between the two.
I do not have a/c.. just power steering. The pulley(s) are too far back and i will shim them forward...
Ok, here it goes..
i bought the repro pulley from 440 source.. the diameter is 6 13/16 and will not clear the crank pulley . The crank pulleys are so close to the 5 3/4 diameter pump pulley that i can barely squeeze the alternator belt between them. I have to wonder why this crank pulley is even...
Can someone with a 440 no a/c please tell me what diameter your water pump pulley is!! Im seeing on 440 source that the big block pulley is 6 13/16" where mine is 5 3/4" . My water pump pully is too far forward out of line with the damper groove by about 3/16 " or half the belt width. My...
It sits centered both in depth and diameter to the opening.. being a flex fan seems to be frowned upon alot here but when i can find the right clutch fan setup i will likely go that route..right now i am trying to figure out why the new fan belt i put on squeals under power and it seems the...
I ran the car with the 6 blade flex fan,shroud,180 thermo ,fan halfway into the shroud etc and i will say the air that was being pulled thru the front of the radiator was incredible!! Driving the car i could see the system cycling as the thermostat opened and it stayed well within the normal...
I added a shroud as there was none when i got the car, it wasnt run for years at the time when i bought the car so who can say how long it sat ..the fan is mostly out of the shroud so i bought a 1 inch spacer and a 6 blade fan which i have not yet installed.. looking into the radiator i found...
When i was in trade school back in the early 70s they taught us the importance of the thermostat and what usually happens without one.. however now i have to wonder if a 180 thermo will actually do more harm than good compared to the 195. My 74 Charger has a 1970 Plymouth 440 drive train in it...
I went with the seatbelt solutions belts and aside from some minor issues adapting the retractors i will say they seem good quality and i am happy with them..
Thanks for the photos..been searching ebay and nothing so i went to seatbeltsolutions and ordered a new set.. gotta have belts in the car and i have none..
Looking for black seat belt assemblies for front bench seat and possibly rear set as well..
need all parts and hardware except mounting bolts.. Thanks.
You will be doing what i just did.. complete overhaul, thankfully my lower back cooperated.. now i have to wait 2 months to have the steering and front suspension replaced.. i am too old to that work myself.. hope you feel better soon.
