After my cars sit a spell, I usually crank engine over a few times before ever setting the carb choke or touching the throttle. Watch your oil pressure guage until you get pressure. Then hit your throttle and set the choke.

No, you’re right on track. Only thing I did different was I used a self etching primer before the matte finish paint. Also I found 1/4” green paint tape to tape off stripes. I cut them all same length and rounded edges with scissors. Good luck!
Relays will fix your issue I suspect. I used two, one for low beam one for high. I used a member on here from Palm Springs who built my harness. He did a wonderful job,I lost all my contact info with swimming with my phone!, maybe he will see this.. I mounted the relays in a box in fender behind...

I have a progression distributor in my SBC. It has been amazing for 2 years. I just ordered one for my built 440 in my Coronet. I’m tired of taking apart to change curve. If nothing else, dial it in with progression, then mimic it with a traditional style distributor.
