Are you changing the gears at the same time, or just the diff itself? Do you have a press to install the side bearings? Also do you have a magnetic base micrometer? I'm sure the interwebs has a writeup somewhere on how to install. Do you have any axle experience?

No one remembers this car from there? Was bronze metallic, used to have a vinyl top, 318/727 with ice and niccotine biege/yellow interior. Had cop wheels and dog dishes with white wheels when I got it.

Hi, I just got my 1974 charger 2 years ago and she had these sickers in the windows, wondering if anyone knows them. Also maybe if anyone in the CT area remembers the car?

I would check the shaft for thrown "washers" that were welded on for balance, or dents in the tube. Also check for play in the pinion and in the transmission slip shaft (The bronze bushing/sleave wears out over time)

The carb belongs on a 318, you're choking your 440! A 700-770cfm carb would really help. k+n may help, headers and 3" pipe help, plugs, maybe, oil, maybe. Everything else just keeps it cool, not really any gains from it. You're likely looking at near stock ratings for a 75 dodge truck, if...
