Just a thought here...what shop would you be taking it to? A local Speed Shop? A Dealership? Mom and Pop Shop? Honestly the price really will depend on things like are they experienced in doing this work, do they have they tools, hourly rate, etc. Sometimes the best route really is to buy a...
Welcome from Lethbridge. I remember the Road Runner in town here at the Street Wheelers Street Machine Weekend back in the '80s. We drooled then, and we drool now...
Best guess from me is the transition from choke on to fully open with an engine not fully warmed up thru all its parts. Until SOME heat is generated in the intake manifold you will have poor fuel atomization and the symptoms you describe until the heat is adequate. A rich mixture (choke on) will...
Yea I know that tire likes an 8" wheel, and that one you found is a beauty. If need be I can find or make an insert. I'm gonna keep looking. Thanks guys. I gotta say R/T you are helpful, thank you. ALL you guys are helpful.
I get where you're coming from with the 16" wheel thing. This application is a '59 Dodge 2WD SWB P/Up, rear engine application. I'm hell-bent to find a 16" wheel that will take a 275/70R16 32" tall tire tire to fill up the wheel well of the (non-MoPar) truck box I'm using. Pretty unconventional...
Also in this I'll say in this "unique" application I also could cut down the diameter of the axle hub itself (probably the best way to go; this combo will never be split up). I like to use hub centric wheel combos, so it will work.
Thanks to Kern & R/T. I'll keep looking. I do have some flexibility in the backspace so I'll see what I can work. In this application I do have room to move an inch or so on backspace. Just want the right look. Center bore adjustments if needed can be done on the lathe, looks to be only approx...
Hoping someone can help me out here for a project I have on the go. I want to find a plain old steel wheel, size 16" x 7", with a 4" backspace. Standard 5 on 4.5 bolt circle, with the regular center bore diameter of 2.75". Speedway Motors lists one (p/n 25040167) but it's in a dual bolt pattern...
Wow that is a gorgeous New Yorker. Back in '76 I was a lot lizard at a Chrysler store here in town. Still remember getting in those new cars, with the new car smell, and moving them in for P.D.I.'s, washing etc. They were great cars.
