Well spotted Sir, yes it is. Turns out that backing plate ends of diff still parallel even though tube has obvious bent. Owner and I doing some grinding at bodyguys workshop this weekend.

    Axle refuses to come out

Great news. We used the drum as a slide hammer and popped after 4 pulls. Axel in perfect shape. Used more force on the nugget and it came off too. Has 3.23 gears . Housing got kink in 1 tube but when we measured it every way possible with straight edges it is parallel at ends of housing. Looking...

    Axle refuses to come out

I like to start the morning with a laugh but wasn't expecting to laugh so hard. You guys never fail to surprise me. Had to be a fellow Kiwi involved too. Thanks for all the input, looks like I will need to wear my earmuffs for the serious hammer work. We did loosen the nugget nuts and hit it...

    1970 Coronet 500 to Superbee

Hello all. Brief update. Our body guy had a hand injury that he thought was healing. Alas, NO. Had to have another surgery. He still 2 months away from picking up a hammer. We have had all the beefy parts media blasted. Just seen the diff has 1 tube that has a slight bend in it , bummer. Cheers

    Axle refuses to come out

After media blasting our 8 3/4 diff we noticed it has a slightly bend tube on the right hand side. We began stripping it down . The left hand axel and backing plate went like clockwork. The righthand axel refuses to come out . ??? I assume the bend has caused the spline end of the axel to jam...

    1970 Coronet 500 to Superbee

Hello all. Progress . Before we sent the body to get media blasted, my buddy Grant and I stripped the quarters. I didn't get any photos. Lucky for me I had my camera when we stripped the hood. It had been done before hence why the chem stripper worked so well. Was still amazing to watch as the...

    1970 Coronet 500 to Superbee

Cheers guys. When I did my own projects I posted photos every few days. Feels strange not having the coronet in the shed so I take progress photos. I thought I was going to be doing more on the body, but the body guy is going to be doing the final paint so only trusts himself on the prep...

    1970 Coronet 500 to Superbee

Been too long. Had an awesome time at Carlisle. Still haven’t fitted some of the parts I squeezed into my suitcase. Over last 2 months we have been stripping out the coronet. The heat gun method worked great for removing the underseal. We used paint stripper to remove paint on the roof and...

Reproduction hood scoops for 1970 super bee clone

Hello, My friend wants to purchase hood scoops for his super bee clone. I am going to Carlisle this year and said I am happy to pack these scoops in my bag and bring back to NZ. The freight is astronomical. Question, do the part vendors bring these type of items to the show to sell ? Which...
