Figured with this it's so old most parts stores wouldn't be able to tell me if it's the correct fit or not. I know they have studs, I just don't know what size to kit and would trust someone's opinion on here alot more than a parts store computer

Hey everyone, I just rebuilt my carb on my 71 318 and just realized I don't have the mounting studs. Anyone know where to get them/or what size they are? It's a carter 2bbd. I checked rockauto and they don't have them.

Hey, i appreciate it but have decided I will rebuild it myself for the experience. I do have a issue though, i can't figure out how to take the plunger out. Any thoughts?

Thanks! I'm rebuilding the carb right now (there are no cheapie replacement for the 2168 model online). The two ports you just mentioned were the other 2 I was trying to figure out the purpose of so that helps alot.

So I'm good as long as I plug all the vacuums on the carb? Rebuilding the original carb right now. Just wanted to make sure the car would start and run without the emissions stuff. It's got a egr valve thing on too but if I'm not mistaken looks like I can just plug that off too.

Hi everyone, i am 17 and have a 71 sattelite that's been sitting for 20 years. I'm trying to get it started, but the air cleaner system is making it very confusing. It's already hard to try and figure out what's needed with all the options on the car. Can I just delete it, plug the vacuum lines...

Lol I completely forgot about rock auto for it. I'm gonna try and rebuild it anyways cause those are expensive but if that doesn't work out looks like that's my only option. Thanks!!!
