Start with the vin., then a build sheet? if all fails use common sense, like if it came with a slant 6 it probably was not a squad.

Check and see if you have power leading to and leaving the new headlight switch. If not leaving and have the old switch, liberally spray with Electrical Contact spray inside the switch, work it a dozen times and give the old one a try.

Double checking that you grounded the NEW dimmer switch?

That is common problem, and it is with a corroded high beam floor switch. They are cheap, replace it and all will be fine.

But, how will those high prices mean in the future for us that own '78-'79 Dodge Magnums let alone the few that own a "GT"?

If it is a 360 (E-58) Police Package 4 bbl great. If a 360 2 bbl still O.K. but will have the lock up torque convertor at 50 mph. No big deal. If it runs and drives with the Lean Burn then another plus. As far as rust, the worst is the underside of the car. Especially check for rust on the rear...
