Any Concord Ca. guys, from back in the day

Ok, I'm connected to this area crowd in a way but I didn't hang with any of the people mentioned here. I was too old, married with kids. Bought a house on W Leland Rd near Railroad in Pittsburg in late 80s, early 90s. Move out around mid 90s. Had a 67 Mustang Fastback (289 auto) and a 69...

Are all lock sets created equal?

Just need to stay away from those Hemi locks that cost $200 more for the same exact lock as is on any other car. LOL!!

    Legal in California?

Biggest hit will be the cost of registration! I registered my 86 Buick just before I left California for $338 (this was in 2000). I re-registered it in Texas for $48.

what to expect out of a 440???

At the beginning of this string when I saw he could barely squeek the tires the first thing that came to mind and I didn't see mentioned anywhere is if he has a posi-grip rear end. I do and can barely leave a scratch. But she'll definitely out run a Geo. Front end lifts up and she just goes.

Gonna Be Driving the Car 650 miles!! Advice???

In 2004 I flew up to Ohio and picked up an 85 Imperial and drove it to Kentucky to see friends and then to Dallas with no problems and 30 mpg. In 2006 I flew to South Carolina and picked up a 1973 Plymouth Valiant 318 and drove it straight through back to Dallas non stop. Again, no problems...

    Speedometer reads slow

If you haven't fixed this yet, I have about 4 different gears in my drawer. Couldn't figure out the speed on my 66 Charger so I just kept going trial and error until I found the right one. They weren't that expensive and 30 seconds to change. I have the right one now so no need for the others...

I know B body forum but thinking about adding a C body to my collection.

I'm a B and C guy... The B is expected to be a hot rod but the C can be a very nice sleeper! Actually my C gets a lot more looks, compliments and stares. It is fun during the summer to pull up next to a Smart car or a Mini and yell out the window, "I know how you can get better mileage out of...

    1966 Hemi engine identification

My guess would be the PH 426 means Plymouth Hemi 426 although the Plymouth Hemi I believe was the actually called the Commando.

    1969 Charger 225 Slant 6

I too am not going to knock the 225. They were great engines. But for me, in many B or C bodies, the car is just too much under powered. I had a 65 Fury with a 318 and 3 on the tree and sold it because I got tired of pushing it just to keep up with traffic. But my Valiant with a 318 would...

    Car Theft-MAD!

I have, over MANY years, found that if my car is as clean inside as the day I bought it, no one touches it. Hide amps under the seats and any under dash stereo must have a removable face plate. What YOU might think is worthless like a nickel in the console, may be the nickel someone is short...

    Gas filling problem

When I was in CA I could never get those stupid things on the car right so I used one hand to pull the rubber thing back and just hold it back and put the nozzel in the car. Meant I couldn't just let it run but I didn't have gas all over the car.

After marriages and kids all grown up, I went and got another one. This is originally a California 383 automatic car that now has a 69 440 Magnum under the hood.
