Help! I messed up somewhere installing electronic ignition.

We have the point system on. We have the reluctor Gap set at 016. We have the rotor in the right position. We have fuel. Dwell is 32. Plug wires are in the right order. We've got it running smoothly, but now it stalls at idle. When we have it on the road it will bog down and stall when I put my...

Help! I messed up somewhere installing electronic ignition.

Okay let me start over. 1. The car was running, but it wasn't running as nice as I would like. So I thought I would put in the electronic ignition conversion set that I got in a trade. It came out of a later 318(78) although I don't believe that should make a difference. The engine had been in a...

    Skip White HEI install help

Well, my experiment with the Orange box / electronic ignition hasn't worked out so well. We've got the car running, but I cannot seem to set the timing for love nor money. I'm currently left with two options. One reinstall the original points ignition. I would probably just do a rebuild of the...

Electric Motor activated air grabber - Anyone try this?

Turned out ok, but the carb bolt is not long enough. Had to flip the lid over.

Electric Motor activated air grabber - Anyone try this?

Finally got around to starting the process. I am just waiting for the fibreglass base to cure. Basically getting my feet wet by making a baseplate so I can use my new K&N X-stream filter top. Next up will be working on determining the measurements for a sealable air-box with a flapper.

Vapor Lock - 1971 Satellite 318 Looking to install a Fuel Vapor Separator, Need some Direction

Pretty sure the fuel pump is fine, it only happens on really hot and humid days when I get stuck in traffic, or if I'm sitting in a Drive-Thru I'm behind somebody else. Pretty sure the fuel is boiling and it's causing the problem. I guess there isn't a factory return line I could splice into on...

Vapor Lock - 1971 Satellite 318 Looking to install a Fuel Vapor Separator, Need some Direction

I have developed a recent issue with Vapor lock. It seems the local Government thought it would be a good Idea to mandate a minimum amount of Ethanol in local gasoline. Unfortunately we have been experiencing a number of very hot/humid days, and I keep stalling in traffic. I've watched a bunch...

Need a "How too" install for Electronic Ignition On 1971 318 Satellite

Is there a way to test the ignition box? I bought it secondhand, but I don't think it's ever been used, same with the Distributor.

Need a "How too" install for Electronic Ignition On 1971 318 Satellite

Ok, I think it's all hooked up correctly. Turns over but not catching. Tried to position everything the same as the old dist. I hope to have a friend over tomorrow to assist in adjustment to get it running so we can set the timing.
