    74 Charger crank/no start

This is just a passing thought, not trying to jinx myself here lol.

    74 Charger crank/no start

Yeah, I heard that as a kid, supposed to have happened by the year 2000. :)

    74 Charger crank/no start

So I figured it out. The ignition connector that has all the ignition wires running into and out of the steering column has to be jiggled, and the car will fire right up. So apparently the connector is bad or something. Thankfully nothing major. Back in the day my 69 Charger had an endless...

    74 Charger crank/no start

I found this video, and I am going to try to follow these steps later this week when I have time. The other video that was posted, while a good video, seems to focus on an electronic ignition system which I don't think I have.

    74 Charger crank/no start

I have power (dome light comes on, etc). Yes, I use a screwdriver to jump the starter relay on the firewall, it cranks but will not actually start up. It did last week, but now does not.

    74 Charger crank/no start

I have a 74 Charger SE, 318 automatic on the column. The thing starts, but only when it wants to apparently. Sometimes I turn the key and it fires up, other times I turn the key and nothing. Nada. No crank, the dome light doesn't even fade or blink, nothing. A couple times I let it sit a few...

    Front end tutorial?

Thanks for the help guys. I assume the FSM is the 2 volume Service Manual put out by Dodge?

I have steering shaft play; steering box does NOT leak.

Clearly the car is totally unsafe and dangerous. I'll save you all the trouble, just send me the car (or let me know where to pick it up) and sign it over to me and you'll be good to go. :)

    Front end tutorial?

Is there a step by step tutorial on redoing the front end suspension on a 74 Charger? Basically putting in a front end kit or something similar? There are several vids on youtube (nothing specific to 74 Chargers that I could find, just a 71 and I think a 73) that show certain parts of the...

    Any structural engineers here?

I was just thinking. If I'm going to have steel trusses, spaced 10ft apart, that means I'd have four total. So I'm wondering if I could just run beams across those 10 ft spans, mounted to the trusses, and hang the bags from those? That would mean the support for the heavy bags was supported at...

    Any structural engineers here?

So did you decide that I-beams were better and more economical than trusses for the roof? I was thinking about a flat roof but I figured the cost would be greater than just getting four steel trusses and doing a simple gable roof?

    Any structural engineers here?

Building codes? Snow, rain, wind, what's going on outside? This is a simple support structure meant to hold up punching bags. It isn't meant to be holding up a wall or anything. Building codes outline how to "properly" install a punching bag hanger in an outbuilding? Anyway, I have discovered...

    Top 3 Greatest Guitarist Ever

Depends on what is meant by "greatest". Does that mean "the ones whose music I like the best?" Does it mean "the ones who received the most fame and publicity?" Does it mean "the ones who are the most innovative and influential on other musicians?" Personally, I put the top 3 like this: 1. Jimi...

    Any structural engineers here?

I am planning to build a 30x20or24 building that will be used as an exercise gym. One thing I need to find out, and for which I have searched the retardnets to no avail, is the answer to the following question: With an open span of 20 feet plus I guess an 2 additional feet on each end for the...
