It's looking like the winning bidder isn't going to pay, so I'm probably going to have the option to get it inspected and then purchase.
What do you guys think is a good price for this car? Keep in mind the engine and transmission are NOT numbers matching to the car.
It is an RT and looks to...
What do you guys think about this Coronet? I'm thinking about bidding on it. Any issues that stick out that would prevent a bid?
thanks!

The one thing I don't like about carsonline is that the price isn't listed until you click on the actual link. Since I'm looking for one that is not a work in progress, there's no point in looking at anything under about $18k-$20k. And since i'm not looking for one that is in concours...
I’m looking to buy a 68-69 GTX, Road Runner, orCoronet. I’ve been looking at this site,hemmings.com, autotraderclassics.com, classiccars.com, and ebay. Any other good sites for old musclecars? I’ve found a few dealer websitesthat seem to specialize in these cars while looking on these...
Here is the Hemmings ad: http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/carsforsale/dodge/coronet/1692716.html
Here is the guy's new website. http://www.motorkingautos.com/
I have contacted him twice via Hemmings. He has responded with two different business names, two different websites, two different location addresses, and two different names. How do I know it's the same guy? Because he has put his picture on both websites.
That's what I was saying earlier. His website is now gone.
I did go back to the listing website and again hit the "Contact Seller" button but gave a different email address. Got almost the same email back but with a new website and a new contact name. Went to the website, and it has similar...
monaco66coupe - Yep, he's gone. I looked at the street view of the address for his place of business, and it looked very run down and shady. So I sent him another email asking for more pictures and history of the car. Then a couple days later after no response, I went back to the website and...
Seller pulled a Keyser Soze on me and disappeared. Phone calls go straight to robotic voicemail. Website no longer exists. Emails go unanswered. The good thing is that I never gave any money or personal information to him. Very odd.
Dako - Thanks for the things you pointed out. That's exactly what I'm wanting from you all.
super-bee_ski - That's very true.
Since I'm in GA and the car is in Kansas, my plan is to have the car inspected by a professional. I know there are companies out there that supposedly specialize in...
Thanks for the response. I guess I've been caught up in the asking prices of these cars on various websites, and most of those prices are $40k and up. But I have no idea how much the cars are actually selling for.
Also, "my" car is similar to the one discussed in this post...
First off, I'm a newbie and I hope I'm posting this thread in the correct location.
I'm looking to purchase my first muscle car, and I've been looking at 68-69 Coronets and GTX's for the past 6 months. I've been emailing back and forth with the seller, and they are saying this is a numbers...
