If the "pig" comes out of the frone, it is an 8 3/4" which was disgustingly standard on most Road Runners. If it is a "Dana 60" the rear end gears are accessible from a back cover with 10 bolts. That what I am getting ready to put in my '70 Road Runner. I just need to spend more time on it...
I painted my '68 Road Runner Plum Crazy (Statuatory Grape was original planned name) and it looked great. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I gueass. The original color was "Amana Yellow" at least that is what I called it as it belonged on a refrigerator.
Later on when I really started...
CAN'T YOU GET A SHERIFF'S TITLE ON IT? I had a new one that I bought from my Dad when he was a Chrysler executive when it came off his 6 month lease. It was a great car!
The 68 and 69 Road Runner had the raised line about 1 1/4" from top but the 70 Road Runner is totally smooth. I wish my '70 was a '69 although they are almost the same. The tail lights are excessive and I miss the fender line. The Road Runner gold bird turd trail down the side does not match...
I went too far on my '68 Road Runner but my best time 383 (bored .60 over), four speed crash box, Lakewood scatter shield, 8 3/4 rear end, 2" hooker headers, stock heads that I ported and polished myself, Edelbrock Tarantula manifold (NOT torquer), battleship springs, single 4 barrel carburetor...

does anyone have the drivers side rear stainless steel molding that fits right below the steel molding above. I got the metal piece from Mike. It fits perfect.
When I was racing my 383 4-speed '68 Road Runner in the '70's at the drag strip, I experimented with 140 octane avgas that I bought at the local airport as my roomate at the time had an A & P license and worked in one of the hangers. My 383 had second hand stock heads and I ported and polished...
I think it is a Plymouth as they are steel and the dodge are covered in vinyl. They are different sizes. I just got a Plymouth one for a Road Runner and I had a heck of a time finding it.
It will depend on how hot your cam is. If you have a really hot cam like I did, every time it lopes it shakes the car. I switched to a chain for a torque strap with just a bit of slack in it added to the rubber mounts. That way you have rubber cushioned mounts until you really get on it when...
Just an idea. You could put in a torque strap that is just barely loose. That way the rubber won't stretch enough to break. If you put in solid mounts and drive it on the street it will rattle your teeth
I raced in the 70's and my best 1/4 mile time was 10.44 with 160 mph. I am unsure about the mph but I always had a high mph. That was with a '68 Road Runner with a 383 bored .60 over, reworked ported and polished heads, milled to far with 13 to 1 compression, tarantula manifold, Holley...
