bought my car in 1968, converted to a 383 in 71. left home and played navy for 6 years. bought a 67 sattelite in75 while stationed in hawaii , put a 383 in it did some drag racing at the local strip best time 14.5 with 292 rear gears. got home in 78. used the 67 as a dailey driver, put a 440 in the 66 for a more exiting ride. by 1988 I had rebuilt 3 383s and 2 440s. also about 4 727s and 1 904. I parked them out by the barn around 1990 and keep thinking about restoring them. they were a lot of fun and relatively easy to work on. I pretty much hate working on newer vehicles. I also started riding Harleys when I was 40 they pretty much satisfy the feel for acceleration since even stock my big hog pulls about the same quarter mile time as the 440.
