What color should shift levers be

Hi all I am trying to find out if the shift levers on A833 came in black or were they just steel colored. I am working on getting the drivetrain ready on my 70 Cuda (had to buy 2 to get one thread) while it’s at the body man’s shop. I am just about to put trans in storage and I painted the...

Never assume someone knows what they’re doing

Yes I degreed the stock regrind purple shaft cam when I put it back together and it was definitely several teeth off. It was “rebuilt” back in ‘08 and had never been started. At least that’s what the rods and main bearings were dated

Never assume someone knows what they’re doing

I never turned it over by hand. It was just sitting in the car when I bought it and it’s a manual so I didn’t have to turn it over for converter bolts. I just put on the stand and started disassembly. Took it completely down and started all over. They attempted to put a rope seal in it but...

Never assume someone knows what they’re doing

I bought a 70 Cuda last September and was told the engine had been rebuilt and ready to go. After being a tech for 40 years I don’t trust many “qualified “ people. Stripped the body down and sent it to the body shop end of April so I figured I’d go through the rebuilt 340 and check it out. Good...

Needing some help with 340 valves and valve seals

Yes I lubed everything before assembly with a slight mixture of assembly lube and engine oil as I have done for years. And they are 3/8 seals right out of the MP package but very hard to move.Especially the exhaust. The 2 oddball valves measure identical to the other 6. Checked that first and...

Needing some help with 340 valves and valve seals

Hi all. Needing a little help or maybe some moral support. I am in the process of getting a 340 street/cruiser ready for install while the body is getting overhauled. I found that the valve guides are worn out so I have a set of X heads that I had partially done back in 1991 and decided to...

    FABO

Hell back in the day I had many arguments with car guys that’s just part of the love for Mopar’s. I started with a 77 Volare RoadRunner then a 76 Aspen R/T definitely not part of the cool crowd but my pride and joy especially when passing a chebby or a blue oval!!
