I have seen several 1971 Roadrunners in my life. Some have the grills completely painted black and others have the grills black with silver/argent around the bottom lip and around the headlights. Does anyone know why?

Chargervert, I had the exact same issue with my 71. It was the ignition switch! Works fine now.

Turns out the problem is gone after replacing the voltage regulator and alternator. Thanks to all who made suggestions.

Thanks Jonny for the reply! I will check the dimmer. I do know high beam & low beam function as they should but the dimmer switch seem to have lost its click sometimes. I’ll replace it anyway.
