I thought the new holley 6 pack carbs are discontinued? I got a set from summit 3 years ago and they work great. Expensive yes but very well made. Not sure I would chance the knockoffs.
The Edelbrock intake on the other hand ..not well made.
Did you take it to 6000+ RPM on the dyno? That's where the parts store orange box of old was complete garbage, it would break up over 5k. And the rev n nator has a rev limiter.
AI is a tool. Stuff like Alpha Fold is very useful for specific tasks, but offloading your brain to AI completely like chatgpt is a recipe for disaster.
Human critical thinking is still required because AI at the moment relies on the information built into the models, and tends to get worse...
I agree with this for lash on solids. I do EOIC with a bump starter but ensure that the intake valve is completely closed before using the feeler gauge. When the engine was new I adjusted fairly frequently and could tell when it needed it by valvetrain sound, but now I just check once a year and...
Rest in peace Bob, you will be missed. I just saw this today and it really saddened me.
Thanks for sharing his PM from September. I work in a technical field as well and those two lines he signed off with are 100% true.
If you need help with Mopar repair you can see Jimmy Vignona in dutchess county NY. He helped me with my distributors when I was working up in north jersey. He should still be running his shop in Wappingers Falls. There is also John Rogers from long valley service in long valley NJ. He closed...
If you have stock 31 squirters (accelerator pump discharge nozzles) you can go up a few sizes. I used 35's, easy to swap on the center carburetor although you will need to remove it to do it without potentially dropping a screw down the intake. I just stuck a rag in the carb in case. This is to...
I also open the hood to cool down after a drive. Seems to help with starting the next time and cuts the odor from percolation in the bowls. I get grief every day from the wife about carburetor smell, I have tried everything and have largely given up. I might look at reconnecting the EVAP system...
If you are in Connecticut and need engine or head work, go to carlquist competition. They are outside of Waterbury. I would never pay for this kind of work other than with a reputable shop with actual equipment.
Maybe, but i doubt it makes much difference on a street car.
If you mount the regulator to the firewall you can plumb with AN in different configurations and test
I use a holley regulator and the holley cartridge fuel filter on a six pack before the carbs and it works great with the stock...
