Hey there, I'm running 516 heads which are closed chamber. The pistons are way down in the hole and my effective static compression is 8.5:1. I could mill the heads a little but would rather swap out the stick for something with a more modern profile that works with lower comp motors.
I have a 64 Polara hardtop with a very mild 383
Currently the motor has a MP 284 / 484 hydraulic stick
Trouble is the static compression is only at 8.5:1 with unported 516 heads with larger exhaust valves
It runs 1 3/4 four into one pipes, a Performer intake, and a 650 vac secondary Holley...
What an amazing photo! Everything about the car screams horsepower, from the Race Hemi scoop to the skinny bias-ply tires up front mounted on what looks like 4 inch wide Torq-Thust D's.
Wouldn't you love to have been around in 64 to slap down the cash for a shiny new A864!
I have a 64 Polara hardtop coupe with a burnt out electrical connection at the bulkhead connector on the firewall. It must be a common issue, the heavier guage positve wire from the alternator has crapped out and melted the bulkhead connector. I have temporarily fixed the issue but need to...
I have a 64 Polara coupe that has in the recent past had the holes welded up for the driver's side remote mirror. Could somebody give me some measurements, or a photo of the position of their driver's side remote mirror please?
Chris.
As well as my 64 Polara I have a 30 Ford coupe that's a good late 40's early 50's style Rod. The only thing that pisses me off more than shitty looking Rat Rods, is people confusing my model A for one of those ratty buckets of crap!
There's a huge difference between a traditional type Rod and...
I've spent quite a bit of time on-line trying to decode the fender tag on my 64 Polara hardtop coupe. All I seem to be getting is really confused. I had a 70 Coronet hardtop coupe a while ago and that was straight forward, no such luck with the 64. Anybody, Bueller...?
My wheel has more crack in it than Harlem!
Fortunately, the wheel's not deformed and can be repaired easily. Must be a fairly common thing because every one I ever seen has many many cracks.
I'm chasing the hood & deck lid D O D G E die cast letters that are currently missing on my hardtop coupe. Both the hood and decklid have been welded up where the letters fit. I live in Melbourne Australia and would really appreciate some leads :).
Your car seems to have come out with a remote mirror which is correct for that car if it's on the option tag. Otherwise the two post mirror is correct for that model also. Man, I dig the remote mirror for early B Bodies.
