thanks mate, come out of a 66 (if i remember correctly!) coronet 500... but got told it was a comp cam in it! so was suprised when found out it has the purple cam...its all good though, the engine performs beautifuly
Weve took the heads off the 383 today due to rotten core plugs (it makes life easier!) and it has given us a chance to look inside the engine properly. Just a few questions, do the 383's come from the factory with flat top pistons? and it also has a purple camshaft, i read somewhere before that...
Thanks buddy and i will do...Its using a reliant scimitar axle with the scimitar 4 link set up and spax coilovers...far from a proper drag set up as it has been a budget car, but it works by the looks of it! The 4 link bushes are knackered too! on the front it uses a vauxhall viva front...
Theres a 383 with a torqueflite in it mate, i recon it can go tens with that set up, no nitrous...and the timing boards are right up by the finish line, ill get my brother to zoom in next time lol :D
Had a right blast yesterday at the strip with it, with a soft launch and the gearing no good for the strip (runs out of steam about 1000ft!) we managed an 11.7...a rotten core plug stopped play though, but oh well, great fun.

Austin A40 Farina the car is, and from the factory they weighed about 760kgs...heres a pic from last year, it ran a stockish rover v8 (approx 160hp) and it went 13.8, could have ran so much quicker, but didnt get the chance too!
