Awesome,
Very interested.
You going to be able to produce numbers of these?
I believe my grille was replaced with the standard grille many years ago so I only have that hardware. Every once in a while I see some of the parts come available for reasonable $ but now I think I need to pull the...
I am in your same boat, but my 72 AM-FM stereo radio at least still works. My choice is between sending my original to have it gutted and replaced w/more modern electronics....or just buying a replacement replica unit for around $700 and boxing my original just as I have for a few other original...
Now that some of the parts are being reproduced, unfortunately no one is making the 3 unique brackets. Could they be made by a good fabricator with the right tools?
I guess there isnt a huge market for them. Finding those 3 brackets is the only thing keeping me from buying the other repro...
Interesting thread.
Ive got a matching numbers 72 RR 400-4bbl (w/Holley carb) with the auto. I think the only way I could smoke tires would be with the original skinny 14 inchers and by dumping the clutch with a 4 speed, and then it wouldnt be too impressive. Probably hard to get much more than...
Spoilers front and rear are also typical add ons people install that usually arent correct, not to mention wheels, etc. but at least you arent cutting it up.
Unless you have a trailer queen original...do what makes you enjoy it the most and who cares what others think.
Agreed...Id be happy to put a 72 grille in mine if I could find one for less than the $$$ the rare one sells for.
As for the stripes, I like the 71 also, but do as you like. I did, front and rear.
Not sure what you mean but sounds like a very poor fit. Maybe I got lucky but mine needed only minor trimming with a razor blade, though again, not perfect. These are the two spots that dont fit well.
Installed my cap a few years ago to cover a couple cracks in my dash. After pulling out the instrument panel and starting to get into cleaning everything out, I decided it was going to be too difficult to get the dash out so I went the cap route. Other than the fit around the center panel on the...
So now its 8 months later. Has anyone seen or have any comment on the replica 1972 grills being offered on ebay for $599?
It doesnt seem to include any of the brackets and maybe not even the center "sill", but could be a source for those who need a partial replacement.
I have a similar issue. Havent tried starting in about 6 months. It cranks and cranks, but no fire. Tried starter fluid...nothing, so I figure it has to be electrical. I have a 72 with a stock type system including the orange box and ballast but also a flamethrower coil.
How do I test the coil?
Not tryin to be picky but its off by about 3". IIRC the factory placement was about 1-3/4" rear of the window opening, which places the bottom of the stripes about centered over the rear wheel arch. But I love seeing nice 71-72s. My favorite Mopars and Ive owned a few.
