We went for the first time and had a blast! We stayed on beach road and had a "car show" all day long from our balcony. We gave my son the digital camera and told him to take pictures everywhere we went. He took hundreds of pictures! Here are a few of the good (Mopar) pictures. As to the last...
I am looking for an Mopar brand oil filter for a 1975 440. It currently has a P4452890 and I believe these have been discontinued. I found a P4452890 but it appears to be quite a bit shorter. Any ideas?
Sorry about that. Posted accidentally.
We are going for the first time. We pre registered several months ago and are going down Friday to get an early start. I'm concerned that I might miss some of the events. I've heard it's lots of fun and I hope that an information packet will be available...
I bought a Stant Superstat and will install this weekend. I have been looking for a replacement clutch in case I still have problems. Trying to find a Heavy Duty or Severe duty. I have read about the Jag clutch 2765 that is standard duty. I have found some sites that claim the Hayden 2747 will...
I did a couple of things last night. I put the second thermostat in water on the stove. It never opened, even at 215. I did notice a lot of gold flecks in the water. When I dumped the water out there was also gold material stuck on the sides of the pot. I believe that I got two bad thermostats...
It is not a new clutch. When the motor was hot I could spin the blades about 1/4 of a turn if I spun it hard. Isn't that about what I should expect when the clutch is hot?
Both of the replacements have been Mr. Gasket. I bought those because they most resembled the original. May have been a mistake. I did the boil test and the thermostat did not open, even when the temp showed over 212. I tried the 160 that was in the car when I bought it and it opened. I think...
I bought a 1967 Coronet with a 440 in it about six months ago. Last summer I reached temps of 205 degrees. I had been running a 20' fixed fan, no clutch. I had read that adding a shroud should help keep temperatures down. I also read that a 180 degree thermostat is recommended for the motor. I...
Nice to see some Louisiana Mopars. They seem to be few and far between. With the help of mmissle I bought my 500 about four months ago. This is just the car I was looking for, 440 four speed.
Although it gets lonely at car shows it is nice to have something different. Most shows I am the only...
I bought the car about two weeks ago and I took it out this weekend to see what 5,000 rpm felt like. When I got to about 4,000 the car began vibrating, seemingly from the motor. I was not the vehicle speed that caused the vibration, it was the rpm's. This is not a stock motor. It has a purple...
It looks like I have a lot of internet learning to do. The Pertronics DRL is very small at 3" X 2.5" X 1.4" Tomorrow I am going to take another look under the hood and see If I can find a "hiding place" for the limiter. Thanks for the information.
I just bought a 1967 Coronet 500 4 speed manual and a built 440. I want to put a rev limiter on the car in case I miss a gear or have a driveline failure. I have attached a few pictures. I would like the limiter to be as inconspicuous as possible. Any suggestions? Also, any suggestions on what...
I would like to thank mmissle (Mike) for his help. Within eight minutes of my post asking for help he contacted me and agreed to go look at the car. I am in Baton Rouge and the car was in Sterling Heights Michigan.
Mike was patient and worked out a time that the owner and him were available...
