You'll need to buy the larger half quarter patch from OER and cut it down, or make your own. AMD discontinued patches a couple years back and they've dried up.
I’m in the same situation. Called AMD to find out they’ve discontinued patches and skins for the Charger - maybe it’s the same for the other b-bodies? I managed to score the last one at Summit for the left side, but the right side is long gone. From what I’ve read, the patches from the other...
Anyone in the Spokane, WA area have a large shrinker/shretcher I can use/rent/borrow? I'm making a patch for the passenger lower quarter (discontinued by AMD) and it needs a little shrinkage towards the tail as demonstrated by Birdsong's #5 video patching General Mayhem. Thanks!
Try the Lost Muscle Cars group on Facebook (or find someone who is on Facebook to post for you). You can post there and reach a pretty large audience. Good luck!
Looks like I’ll need to replace the rear crossmember, both corners, at least one trunk extension and I’ll see if I can salvage the lower valance but it might be more trouble than it’s worth. Frame rails are solid, so it could have been much worse!
I’m in the middle of doing mine right now, to install a one piece trunk pan. I’m hoping to reuse the lower valance, so I need to be more careful than you. Locate and punch all the spot welds then drill through the ones between the tail light panel and the trunk pan. Use the spot weld cutter...
I have those, and they work (and cheap) but they leave material behind, requiring more cleanup. Either way, the cutting oil dip is definitely important
I think it’s worth using the Blair flush cut type spot weld cutters from inside the trunk to preserve the outside of the tail light panel. That’s what I plan to do and a friend just did his that way. I drilled right through the welds between the valance and the trunk pan, since it’s the trunk...
What are your collective thoughts on this titled car for 15k (firm). Dana 60 included but if you did the body and paint yourself, how much would someone expect to spend on all the rare options to restore this car? It would be amazing restored - and should be - but without the original...
Has anyone removed the rear valence without drilling through the tail light panel? It would be nice to be able to use a spot weld cutter from inside the trunk to preserve the outside of the tail panel, but is it worth the extra effort?
What's the general pattern regarding lead time for an engine? Say the car was built April 8, 1968 (St. Louis - if the assembly line matters) - would the block have a casting date two weeks-ish earlier? A month?
