1968 Hemi GTX Value

Mario thinks that hemi is not the original motor...it's orange.

Call it what you want but Im here to say that survivor cars are where the moneys at.

If you look for restored hemi 68 gtx for sale you will come across several.

If you look for SURVIVOR 68 hemi gtx for sale.....well they arent out there.

I will let you all know if it runs and drives. I attend a lot of these estate auctions and they are allowing a select few of us to view the car tomorrow at 10am. I want to know if the numbers match on the motor and if the paint is in good condition. The paint looks dirty to me but really cant tell until I set eyeballs on it. I asked the auction house to lift the rear wheels and spin them. They did and it is a sure-grip rear end.

So, another question? The engine number should be visible on the top rear the engine close to where the tranny connects correct?

RC
You may be correct (AGAIN???)
Perhaps a solid $55K to outbid the investors.....

My rating of the car?
Hmm, I made a mistake on Bob Mazolinni's HP2 White 66 Blevedere once...LOL, never do that again! Ha HA (I offered him $55K and the old guy standing next to me laughed and told me he'd offered Bob $100K 2X and was refused.
(It happens to be the lowest mileage 66 Hemi Belvedere on the planet)

I'd say it's a good $50K but I cant see the inside and yes, that is kind of low mileage...

If it is an original paint car, I think that the 50K range is a realistic price. Not trying to offend anyone, but I think that a 68-70 Road Runner is more desirable than a 68-70 GTX.

I think pretty much ANY Hemi survivor car is damn near priceless. For one, they SURVIVED and for two they were such low % of production.

I would and could pay this kind of money for a 67 4 speed charger hemi car in what APPEARS to be survivor condition.

Anyway,
The "guy" was a true Motorhead!
I saw the BIG Direct Connection decal on the rear quarter window.
Lots of neat tools also!

But: Very nice Hemi GTX!

Ya kind of sad when you look through all the pics....

I hope all my cool **** dont get sold off when Im old like that and kick the bucket

Don't worry, it will. And what doesn't sell is given away. And what nobody wants get thrown away. And when your dead in the ground for 30 years & your kin are all gone, you are just another name on a stone.

Encouraging, isn't it?

Hey Dickie, don't sugar coat things. tell us how it REALLY will be :rev_in_action:

I'm selling all my **** in a few years, and leaving everything to animal rescue groups.

I guess I won't be the only one there!!

I personally think someone will bid on it a ridiculous price so no one can have it. At $55,000 I would think its a deal. Let us know what it sales for. If I were bidding on it I would raise my limit in my head before I went on what I wanted to spend on it. I would think if I wanted to be in the game I would tell my self to stop bidding at $70,000. Just a thought.
Good luck

I guess I'm having a hard time thinking this is a $70K car. In order to buy at an estate sale you have to have cash or a credit card. How many people have $70k limits ( or close to) on their credit cards? Most people that have that kind of juice aren't looking for old Mopars, they are buying new Porsche's. At least that is my opinion but I could be wrong. I'm in the process of pulling some cash together as this is about 30 minutes from my house and since the auction house is showing the car to "some" people at 10 tomorrow morning, I believe I will be there as well.
