newbie as well: RS23U0C171821 - non original 440 super commando 4 speed motor with date stamp on block : 2.28.69

when buying / replacing parts (i.e. single or dual ignition ) do I go 69 or 70?

Welcome fellow 70 GTX owner nice car, as far as your distributor goes the 440 4 barrel got the single point, 6bbl and Hemi got dual point.
