I am having my 1969 Coronet R/T deck lid emblems that spell out D-O-D-G-E machined to new. Would the originals been pot metal that was then chrome plated? I am wondering if I should have them made lot of aluminum with a polish finish or chrome plated.

I believe you're correct, chrome plated pot metal.

Polished aluminum would look pretty sweet.
Chrome plated would look more like the originals.

The polished aluminum would look really good. I reused the original DODGE letters on my resto and they look weathered against the new paint. If you go polished aluminum please add some pics.

I may get them to make two sets; one polished and one chrome plated. They can make them in plastic and (fake?) chrome them, but he claims it is more expensive and I would rather have them in made out of some form of metal anyway like the originals.

Okay, The guy quoted me $635.00 for a chromed set of D-O-D-G-E letters. This includes a $250.00 CAD 3D printing charge so additional orders should be less as I paid for the upfront set up charge. I would guess for a set of chrome plated letters, it would cost about $500.00. PM me for the company's name if interested and I will post pictures once they are done in a few weeks.
