I put 2009 cop car charger seats black cloth in my 69 charger !! car had 4k miles they were mint, best up grade !! next to modern tires !! aka toyo proxys !! so i got a 2004 hemi durango blown engine. engine hydrauliced from water leaking into intake during rain storm !! bad factory design . I took the durango leather seats out !! took them apart dyed them saddle color and made my own seat mounts !! looks like truck seats and car seats are the same just different frames !! all done installed in my 1974 charger, 8 way power leather perfect match for interior !!! cause its still under construction !! I wish i could up load photos from my i phone 6

Did you use the rear seat from the Durango to ?

I use the Pro-Car/Scat Elite 1100's black buckets adj., W/headrests & brackets
in my 68 RR to replace the org. bench seat, that I sold to a member here

I like buckets much better & these hold me in the seat far better,
lighter, more comfortable & adjustable, with better positioning too,
lower & bolstered seating, especially for when carving corners,
than the flat OE type buckets or heavy org. bench seat...

I had about $700 in the 2 seats & brackets when I purchased them in 2011 IIRC
from Summit or Jegs, I can't remember which

Put seats from an 89 FWD Daytona in that was upside down in a yard back in the day. Still in. Comfy.

I like buying factory seats (chrysler, gm, ford, etc), better quality and cheaper in my opinion. I'm using 2004 Dodge Stratus buckets in mine.

Don't hate on me but the Ford F-150 seats from and 08 and up are really pretty comfy. Just not sure if they fit.

I'm looking at f150 grey vinyl seats as well. Wish I lived back in Texas I could have my pick at the junk yard, harder to find in the northeast.

Last year I was considering several types of seats. I sat in many but went bonkers after sitting in a Neon SRT 4 in a junkyard. Those seats are more supportive and comfy than even our 2015 Challenger R/T !
I was concerned a bit that they didn't recline forward much since the SRT 4 is a 4 door but they slide forward enough so it isn't a problem.

I second the Neon SRT4 seats, and they are pretty reasonable compared to the Viper or SRT 8 seats.

I paid $400 for a pair in great shape! The Corbeau seats that I was considering would have been over $1500.

I've been looking at Corbeau's too as my buddy John has some comfy Corbeau's in his Barracuda, but I'm going to check out the SRT4 Neon seats! Do you think they're lighter than our stock seats and/or the Corbeaus? Did you pay that money at Pick N Pull?

Lighter? Oh hell yeah! The high back buckets for 1970 were probably great in 1970 but really lacked side support for cornering. The seats that I bought came from a full service wrecking yard, not a Pick-N-Pull. They are lighter by at least 8-10 lbs each. Compared to stock low back 66-69 buckets, they may be closer to the same weight. Do a Google image search of the SRT4 seats. The tracks are different and need mods to fit. I made brackets from 2x2 steel to mount the seats using the stock holes in the floorpan.
Later on, I took a friend to another Junkyard and he bought another pair of the same seats, though he paid less for a pair that came from a car that was hit hard on the left side. The left seat is tweaked and will need some work to get back into shape. Get them while you can, these cars went out of production in 2005.

My 68 Coronet Wagon got 2003 Nissan Altima seats, D/S power and heat with a 2014 Chrysler 200 center console. It was amazing how little work it was to fit everything. Used the Altima frames too.

What people need to remember is that is you use seats out of a 4 door car, they will NOT recline forward much for rear seat access. My SRT4 seats do, but lucky for me the seats also slide forward plenty. There is room for robust people to get to the rear seat, though I've never had anyone big back there except a 220 lb friend.

I considered new Challenger seats. I measured them from the wifes 2015 R/T. They were about 6 inches taller than my 70 high back seats so I decided to look at other options.

I don't know challenger seats but they are lx car rite !! 2008 charger seats fit and work perfect in my 1969 charger !! and 2004 durango seats you take all the bracing and bolt on crap off they drop rite down !! seats seem to be same !! The late model factory seats have a bracket that bolts too the seat track !! you un bolt it !! Then bolt the seats rite to the floor and use factory 69 seat spacers , to adjust the hieght ,you need two sets . used seats 4 new shocks and new modern rubber !!! WOW CAR IS TRANSFORMED INTO !!! a modern feel everyday driver

IVE DONE IT 2 TIMES !! TAKING BLACK CLOTH SEATS OUT OF A 2005 RAM !! paid hundred dollars for !! got driver seat in , my buddy drove car came back was so happy !! thats 3 times we need more spacers for passenger side !! ha ha !!

It really is amazing how much better an old car feels with a few modern upgrades like this. Imagine what a well tuned EFI setup would do !
