Tim's China Rant

One of the most honest, no B.S. videos I have seen! Made in U.S.A. is important. Your children will thank you. Just my humble opinion.

Couldn't agree more. Especially with Chinese garbage. They're ruining the world for everyone. Pollution, resource hogging, and garbage mfg. I wish this video could reach everyone in the USA.

I once saw a clip where a couple was going to clear their apartment of everything foreign made - especially Chinese. Wanted everything kept that was made in the USA. His apt was bare to the walls when the show was done. Couple of odds and ends left that were made in country. I agree with the video clip above - wish everyone else would too!

I've been preaching that for years...

thanks for sharing

sounds like Trump supporter

My slogan is "Piece of $hit Made in China" been saying it for years. Just ask my wife

Thing of it is why do the powers that be allow it? There was a time when the government put tariffs on most things off shore. They see what`s happening and yet doing nothing. I'm not sure letting us become a 3rd world country is in anyone`s best interest. I cant believe that they don't understand the ramifications of what they are letting happen. Just my 2 cents (which by the way is about what a 12 year old boy makes an hour in china)......

Money is priority 1 in big businesses. Their is no loyalty to their employee's or customers either because it isn't profitable. It is actually the consumers fault. People were cheap and bought the crap from big business's because the big guys bought in bulk so they could sell it for less than the smaller business. They made their money on volume. The small guys couldn't beat the big guys prices so they went out of business. Now you have nowhere else to buy but from the big guy. (legal monopoly) Now you can expect poor to no customer service, product quality that is minimal and designed to fail so that you will be forced to become a repeat customer and the price of this junk will continue to rise. Most small businesses have already been beaten and closed their doors or have been absorbed by the big guys. A lot of these companies are foreign owned including Chrysler! By being cheap and not supporting our small businesses we have put our economy into foreign hands! This is extremely bad for the future of our country.

It's really too bad that our country has gotten addicted to low cost products. It started at 40 years ago with Japanese products, now Chinese. We seem to gotten used to the "throw away" items. When I was in college I had an instructor that was German, grew up in the '30's & '40's. He always told us about the exceptional quality of American precision tools compared to the European. Too bad we have lowered our expectations. Big business wants to make money, big government wants to take as much as they can.

You can thank your politicians, both sides, for "free trade agreements". In addition to not being able to find US produced goods the people that used to get paid to produce the same goods in the US are now out of work. I'm not a big Trump fan but I think he may be the only one that's willing to address the problem. Free trade is a good thing for the trading partner country that gets added jobs. Not so good for the country that loses jobs. That's usually US workers.

Everything coming into the USA should be taxed. Our own manufactureres took thier plants out just to make more $$$$$$.
And the jobs left with them.We will pay the price, but the work MUST come bacK to the US or we will be chinese in 25 years!!

I remember seeing toys made in Taiwan and Japan back in the mid 60's and thinking wtf. It was cheap stuff even back then but at least Japan was on the rise to making quality products over time. I agree with a lot of things that have been said but it's not going to be a quick road back to where we once were with so many immigrants coming in (legal AND illegal) who seem to also look for the cheapest crap on the planet. We also have to force 'our' politicians to do what's good for this country and they are not going to do that until we start screaming at them as loud as we can. There's a lot of reasons why there's over 90 million citizens of this country out of work but for that many to be out is a huge signal that things are not right.....

It's not always that easy to know what is made in China. It takes some research to know for sure. I always look for wording such as "Made in the USA". But even that can be misleading. Some manufacturers try to define that as what is really just assembled in the USA. Some USA manufactured items can be full of Chinese parts, especially in electronic items. Or even "Made in the USA" hard parts with metals imported from China. Most companies don't want to talk about this subject.
I noticed Tim had an MSD display over his right shoulder - https://forums.msdperformance.com/showthread.php?15381-China or

There's a lot more to it. I do my best but it's not as easy as looking at a box or reading a label.

I agree with everything he said. Since the 80's, I've been bitching about how our government has NEVER tried to balance trade. We elect the fuckers who've never been looking out for us, while they look at taking care of themselves. People don't understand how I can have a 100-150K in my car builds. It's simple.......almost EVERYTHING on the cars is domestic. People's lives count on my making the correct decisions on where I spend my money......and I don't give 2-fucks about China.

Oh...and my favorite thing he says is....if ya can't afford to build USA quality stuff, GTFO!!...or something similar to that.

I go to Vietnam on a fairly consistent basis cause my wife is from Saigon. A few years ago I checked prices on a Toyota RAV4 - you can buy one here for around $30k - difference between countries that must not have a trade agreement - buy the same vehicle in VN for about $75k.

An interesting footnote about VN is even though their big brother is China - they absolute loath the Chinese and their products and influence in the area. They want nothing to do with them but have no choice. China is a shadow over VN as well. They pollute other countries and product dump all over the world. They hog much in natural resources. Too big to ignore. I don't know what the answer is - I just know my relatives want out in the worse way. Much of it because of China. They have $ it's just the heavy hand of Chinese that is ruining their way of life over there.

surprised nobodies mentioned how the chinese Steal Designs.
some of their cars are direct copies of other countries cars.
or hey how about how they spend every day trying to steal our corporate secrets and our ideas, not even including the espionage they perpetrate on our military stuff.
they are in this to Win,and the usa is literally turning into a 3rd world country.

plus we owe them a trillion bucks,so we cant really levy trade embargos because hey we owe them money....
im guessing this is why nothing ever gets done about it,even tho our govt make postures and threats but cant follow thru.
can nobody see this trap they are closing?
the guy in the videos right, one of these days we just might be living in the usC instead of the usa.

in fact try this scenario
trump gets elected and immediately shuts china off,
starts trying to rebuild the country.
china says okay no problem.
calls in our Debt.
what then?
