NEW PERSONAL BEST ET...
At the Bakersfield March Meet this last weekend:

60' 1.466
660' 6.635
1320' 10.487
MPH 126.32
Backed it up with a 10.498 and a 10.509.
The 10.487, 10.498 and 10.509 all bested my previous personal best of 10.512

Great job mike, what changes did you make to get there.
Rear Tire Pressure was a little different. Front tire pressure was changed from 26 to 30lbs. (Moroso DS2's) Timing was changed from 35 to 36 and valve lash was loosened up a tad. Shifted 2nd to 3rd at 300 rpm higher. Plus it was just better Adjusted Air Density to top things off.

My 60' was a little off on the 10.487 run...it was 1.466.
My 60' on my previous best of 10.512 was 1.448...quite a difference...(.018)...go figure (coulda been the looser valve lash which gave me more "top end" horsepower and in turn gave me a slower 60' (less torque).
I always run 110 race gas.

Mike your getting down to the nitty gritty now and congrats on passing your goal. When I had my 505 on the dyno it liked 36 degrees best too. For valve lash I ended up at .016 on the intake and .020 on the exhaust. More lash didn't help on my combination.

MIke, great numbers! Lash from / to? Shift point from / to ? Using trans brake?

Making steady progress, good for you.

Great job Mike. Now I have to work harder. Thanks for the motivation.

 Mineshaft air in Bakersfield last weekend...

I do not have a transbrake yet.
6100 to 6400 2nd to 3rd.
Loosened up valve lash .002 on both intake and exhaust. What I actually set them at is not important to anyone who is not using my EXACT Comp cam as I believe all them are suggested by the cam company at different settings, depending on the cam.

Next goal? Good job!

Actually I think I am about to the best ET and MPH as of right now.
I might pick up about a 10th or so when I install my new Trans Brake John Cope Transmission but by then it will be getting warmer at the track and the Adjusted Altitude will be going UP.
I think RIGHT NOW thinks are perfect with the performance of the car.
The class I will be running all year is D/GAS here is California which is 10.60 index.
When it gets hotter my high 10.40's and low 10.50's will increase to high 10.50's and low 10.60's. which will be PERFECT for my 10.60 index D/GAS.
I always run 2 classes at the races...D/Gas and straight Bracket class. I will be dialing in at 10.60 in the bracket class to duplicate my 10.60 D/GAS index at the same race.
I can adjust my times a tad with a little weight in or out of the trunk.

What fuel do you use? Have you tried different ones?

I think when it comes to cutting HUNDRETHS off a time slip it can only be measured AT THE TRACK...on the same day with the same conditions....not on a dyno...agreed ?
Anyway anytime you want to trade cars, just let me know...lol.

Congrats on a new best and what better place than that meet! Do you data log or read plugs? Mineshaft air can be alot of fun!!
