Not promoting for sale or anything like that. Just browsing the fleabay and saw this. I haven't seen one with a slant 6 before. I read it was a no cost option if customer wanted one. There can't be too many of these out there.

They are rare but rare for obvious reasons....

They did produce slant six Chargers....low production of course...

I could imagine a few people ordering them. Then again, why would you want to? But I'm sure a few did..

I had a slant six 1969 Coronet that I bought as a parts car. I think numbers wise they are sort of rare, but not really much demand for them (compared to v-8 models.)

It's a curiosity.
"Order" one at no extra cost?
But it wasn't the base engine.
One would assume this car wasn't sitting on the lot.
Why then, indeed?

I've often wondered what color would be most popular a person bought a new car and magically could make it any color.
In other words not be at the whim of what colors are available to order or what color was sitting on the lot when they decided to buy.
I didn't notice an original color.

I buddy of mine has a 68 charger with a slant 6. He gos back and forth about a 440 swap.

Thats something I would like to own,... it looks nice..

It's listed as a coupe.....does that mean the quarter windows are fixed? I know you could get an E body that way....

Probably someone who thought it was a nice looking car but wasn't looking for power. Anyone trading up from an older three-on-the-tree six cylinder Biscayne or Galaxy would have found it quite acceptable.

I think it's cool! I would leave it as is. Not all the cars we see at shows like Carlisle were 440 and Hemi cars.

20+ years ago, at a show in the San Fernando Valley area, I saw a sublime green e-body Cuda ragtop with a slant in it.

You guys think that Charger would be a dog? How about 67-69 Furys with a 225? They made 'em.

With a 4.10 gear in the back, a straight pipe and some tuning, it wouldn't be that much of a dog... :D

Ahhha,,, Mother Mopar, The things she has done over the years. I worked at a Dodge Dealership in the early 70's.Man did we have the strangest combinations .Yes we had one of those, A 69 that was traded in because of a under hood harness fire.It too was a 3 speed on the tree.B5 blue with B7 interior.

I had a 71 dart with a slant that dynoed at 400 hp....I had more $$ in machine shop work than one could imagine....it was very cool and everyone said pop the hood and let's see that 440 imagine the look on their face when they saw a slant....

But that car was tricked out with many goodies 4.30's, slicks, high stall, built up trans etc....

It was featured in Mopar collectors guide in the 90's....when no one even looked at a slant and you can imagine what was available on the performance end, nothing...

Sometimes rarity is rare for a reason but it is different I will give it.....

Every couple of years a /6 68-70 Charger turns up with the same gee whiz gotta be valuable story.

I remember back in the 90's it was /6 E body's.

Two words- tur bo.

Unfortunately, as much as we all love or love to hate it, the Mopar slant six family was never the power or efficiency contender in any arena except for maybe the 198 in an early A body.

Bullet proof- yes. Powerful- no, not without an exorbitant investment. Efficient- sorry, you can get very close to the MPG of a 225 with a 318 and have MUCH more power.

34k for a 6-cyl anything just breaks my heart...and with the list of 'not-perfect' items that need fixing jeeez

Whats worse, the person thinking they have a goldmine or the doofus thats willing to pay that and more? Cheaper to have a trophy made up. To each his own.
