Not sure if this is true or not but a guy I was talking to the other day said these are WIX filters but just have a NAPA label on it. Anyone else hear this?

If I remember right...the WIX filter I buy at O'Kragens its PN#51515, same filter as the Napa #1515

Lets confuse the issue. Not all NAPA 1515 filters are gold filters. Yes made by WIX. Can be bought at other retailers. The GOLD quality would be of question.
I will continue to buy NAPA GOLD they have served me well since 1980.

Anyone notice the DODGE Fratzog on the box in post # 4 ??

I wonder if Dodge lost the rights to the design and if it is not copyrighted.??

If still copyrighted it should have the approval to use on the box. I should still have a box around and will check tomorrow.

Because even though a Wix filter its to NAPA standards for Gold filters.
I understand that to get Napa Gold quality filters, they use Wix. But why not just go get a Wix? They are available a about every parts house. Someone noticing your oil filter will instantly know you use one of the best. You could put a " gold " lable on a cheap Fram , and after the bad rep. that Fram got, I would never use one of them. Is it that you can save a few cents by buying Napa Gold rather than Wix? Truth is, I am going to use a Napa Gold simply because I was at Napa when I remembered that I need to change oil in the 68 Satty.

Yawp I've used the Napa one before too..My nearest store doesn't carry the VR-1 oil that I've used for the last couple of changes though (Ohh-Reilly's does and is about 2 miles closer) so for me personally it's a matter of convenience....

Made the costly mistake of using a inferior filter once. Never again will I squabble over a few dollar on oil and filters when thousands are at stake
