Could a 1969 Charger R/T have factory Air and a factory 4 speed?

I
Guess it doesn't answer the question. But my
69 Charger is a 383 4 speed AC car.

Yup, 383/4spd & A/C could all be had together, in fact you could even get a 3.55 S/G axle.... But no 440...

No one said a BB car. They said a 440 car

No AC on Hemi, 6 pack, N96, or 440 plus 4 speed.

The first three are clearance related, but I've seen dealer AC on a few N96 cars using the York compressor.

Why a 440 4 speed might rev higher than a 383 or 340 is not especially clear to me.

This may remain a mystery as to why, but I'd certianly like to know the rationale.

..although now I'm curious about pre-1968, but I don't think I've ever seen a 67 either.
I probably assumed since it was a R/T (XS29) car that it was automatically a 440 car.... on my planet a 383 and 440 are considered a big block car. My bad

On an XS there is no 383.. 440 or 426 are the only engines.. That was true of Coronet R/T as well... Challenger R/T was the first to break that rule..

Obviously my vocabulary is lacking comprehension or you just misunderstood. I only mentioned 383 as a big block is all, not something you find in a factory XS car. You are correct an XS car is only 440-426 respectfully except the Challenger....

The 440 engine wasn't available in any car in 1965. It debuted in 1966,and wasn't available in a B body car until 1967.

The thread is about 440 4 speed cars and the lack of an AC option.

When other terms get thrown in, without proper context, things get muddy.

nope just a 383 , in 65 the best was a 426 wedge or hemi . this car is from the southern usa . maybe purchase location put odd option combo's together . peeled a sfba 69 more door dart sed for its 8 3/4 re and kh disc brakes , it was a /6 auto .
