Been displaying this plate this way for 10 or so years with only one LEO encounter. Burbank. No month and expiration in 69. Current stickers are in glove compartment for January, 2020. Think we can drive from Biloxi to San Jose displayed this way? Once current sticker applied never get them off. Really don’t want to get pulled over in some Burg for improper display.

You need one of these, makes it completely legal...

That’s a damn good idea!

Thanks, I’ve been looking. Think these will work with the fuel filler behind the plate. Thinking they will foul when lowering the plate.

Maybe can be mounted with the fastener at the top?

Have you ever been pulled over by the CHP?

No, just a Motor Officer in Burbank. He was pissed but let me slide. Had the cut outs open, pulled up next to me at a light. Screamed, “your plate expired in 69! I said, well I was just at a Cruise at Bobs Big Boy. He screamed louder.

Why does that not surprise me!! Lol

I would just do it as long as you have the current registration with you. Most LE won’t mess with an old guy driving a old car.

Just do it and beg forgiveness later

I’m old? My car is old? Jesus Chrysler!

Next is, any weapons in the car? Plan to nurse it anyway and run with my Valentine.

Those tag plates are actually made for the DMV & if you know who to talk to at the DMV they are free... But in all the years dealing with the DMV I've only gotten one for free... And it is made of steel....

5 trips to DMV for YOM and 4 hours for Real ID. Not going back until I have to. It’s like Ellis Island and hard to get around the Taco truck. Maybe the eBay with modification.

You need to move out of the SJ area... CCW out here where I live is a piece of cake... Once you get a California CCW get a Utah permit & your covered in 32 states...

Got the 32 State. No good in these parts. Got OOOtah and Florida.

Biloxi should be no trouble. Lived down there two years. A lot of car guys as police officers. Hardly any restrictions in Mississippi, except inside city limits. Biloxi does have a noise ordinance, but most cases it’s applied to that loud rap music. Long as you’re careful with your speed on the atchafalaya basin bridge on I-10 in Louisiana you should be good.

Some one is FOS. The tags must be permanently attached to the plate, not something that is removable. Get a copy of the California Vehicle code or ask the CHP to explain that to you. If you want to drive on a public street or hi-way you must comply with State law. At least in California. The legal way would be to use a legally assigned and tagged set of plates ( you might also check with your car insurance to see what they say about a non currently tagged car involved in an accident) when you are driving your car on the streets and put whatever you want when you are on private property or parked at a show. There are rules and regulations for a reason that might not be immediately apparent to some. It is not personal, they are for everybody.
