B - 17 crash in Connecticut.

Says it a developing story and didn't say anything about fatalities.....hopefully, there are none but think that's wishful thinking. :(

Belongs to the Colings Foundation. I tried to go onto their website to see which B-17 it was and their site is locked down and non-responsive. Sad it is and may the ones who perished RIP...cr8crshr/Bill:praying::praying::praying::usflag::usflag::usflag:

I wonder if they are just using a stock photo of the Memphis Belle because you can see the tail in the video. I ripped this photo out of the video. Doesnt look like the Belle.

Okay thanks! When originally reported it was "The Flying Fortress" and there's only one of those. Of course all B-17's were referred to as Flying Fortresses...

B-17's are the Flying Fortress.
Was it Sentimental Journey? That one was polished not painted and was here a couple weeks ago.

I do think at one point this plane was polished aluminum. Seems like I saw a picture of it in bare naked aluminum. Its a damn shame either way. I think I have some airshow pictures of the Nine-O-Nine. The loss of the pilot and co-pilot are greater by any degree and I feel for their families and the loss they have to endure.

Nine O Nine is the B-17 that crashed. In one pic you can see her tail. She crashed into a building. Prayers to those lost and their families.
Truly a sad day for those involved and for the loss of history.
My wife bought me a ticket to fly on this plane for our anniversary several years ago but it rained all weekend.

5 confirmed fatalities as of my local CT news just now. Plane crashed onto the tarmac as it tried to emergency land. It then slid into de-icing and maintenance buildings causing their damage.

Sad news indeed for the families involved and a terrible loss of a piece of American and World history...

Not the same plane but incredible story of the B-17 and how tough it was. The All American..
