I guess most of you guys are not....no padding or helmets and it's a World Cup trophy competed for by more than one country.

Never mind....it's nearly all wrapped up now...semi finals left to play plus Final, and 3rd/4th playoffs.

No but I read last week that due to the category 5 typhoon that delayed the starting matches that some of the Canadian rugby team went into japan neighborhoods and helped clean up mud and debris from inside homes. That’s a class act. Good on them.

i watched south africa kick the sh-t out of japan today dont understand any of the rules but no pads and helmets are impressive; talk about bad asses. full time excitement like when the two guys are running backwards to catch the ball and the guy furthest away pushes the other guy up into the air to catch it crazy cool stuff. those guys are like acrobats

It's a great game once you understand the rules and how it is played.

One of the English players lost a chunk of his nose a couple of weeks ago...to a USA player. :D

Honestly, if you get the chance...try to watch the All Blacks (New Zealand) play England next weekend - more than likely that the winner of that match will win the Cup as well. :) That game will be brutal.

Nope
but;
I have watched a few games of Rugby
&/or Aussie rules football
(don't know the 'finite' difference really)

when nothing else is on

tough 'bastages'
lots of contact & no pads

Aussie Rules is an insane game....lots of jumping and climbing over the opposition - a really intense game at times. I love the referee hand signals for a goal.....like a pair of invisible pistols are being fired.

Neither game has any use for pads or body armour....the odd band-aid dressing maybe, or tape to hold the ears in place. :D

I watch it....supporting England of course. However...as easily as we kicked the Aussies arses the other day....I think we will be incredibly lucky to beat the Kiwis. The All Blacks are the Worlds best Rugger team without a doubt. But who knows?....we get a bit of luck and they have a bad day with a few missed catches…..and its final here we come!....maybe!! We used to play it at school….and laugh at American footballers with all their armour, padding and helmets to protect their pretty overpaid faces.....bunch of girls! Man up and play a real mans game......a few broken bones and a misshaped nose and ears wont kill ya!!!! A while back a couple of US players did make the switch and come to play rugby in the UK....think they did Ok.

Interested in a side bet? :D

England win, and I'll buy you a Gold membership....
New Zealand win, and you buy one yourself.

How does that sound?

This is the only rugby match I ever see in my life.

Now we're even my friend:lol:

As a disgusted ohio state hater, (they are crushing wisconsin) i tuned in to the rugby match between england and nz. While i freely admit i dont know the rules, or even the scoring, (is 7-0 just one touchdown, or a blowout?), it surely is a manly mans game, and has a LOT more interest and action than soccer, (oh, excuse me, football). With a bit more understanding, i could become a fan, but exposure here is limited. Apparently we only get the world finals here.

(is 7-0 just one touchdown,
That 7 points is made up of a 'Try' 5 points, and the 'conversion' (bonus kick at goal) for 2 points.

Brutal game and our boys, the All Blacks were absolutely monstered last night. Anyone would think the English were on meth or something....they have probably all been promised Knighthoods and a Million Pound payout if they win. Too bad they will rreturn home to a divided nation full of Mooslims, refrigerated containers full of dead Asians and a crippled economy. Ah well, you can't win 'em all.

A very sombre Sunday morning here. :(
