I saw this in August 2017. Doubt things are any different now.
Is this a problem to anybody? Do you shop there?

EDIT: I posted this from thinking about the guy who is mad about all the China products in our lives. I Didn’t write this nor fact check it. It’s not about racism, it is about the big numbers. Can you see they are bigger than anybody else. How many retailers have gone out or on the rocks? K mart, Sears, jcpenny?

How Big is Walmart? Who shops at Walmart? This should boggle your mind!

And Probably scare you!

1. At Wal-Mart, Americans spend $36,000,000 every hour of every day.

2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.

4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target + Sears +Costco + K-Mart combined.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people and is the largest private employer, and most can't speak English.

6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the world.

7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger & Safeway combined, keep in mind they did this in only 15 years.

8. During this same period, 31 Supermarket chains sought bankruptcy.

9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.

10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers ; this is 1,000 more than it had 5 years ago.

11. This year, 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur At a Wal-Mart store. (Earth's population is approximately 6.5 billion).

12. 90% of all Americans live within 15 miles of a Wal-Mart.

13. The value of product for Wal-Mart passing through the port of San Diego each year is a larger sum than 93% of ALL countries Gross National Product (GNP)..... and that is only ONE port... one way - that's how Wal-Mart gets it's stuff.

14. Of the 1.6 million employees, only 1.2% Make a living above the poverty level.

15. Wal-Mart's head office is located and centralized in Bentonville, AR. Due to this fact, there are more millionaires per square mile there than any place on Earth.

16. The official U.S. Government position is that Wal-Mart’s prices are no lower than anyone else's when compared to a typical families weekly purchase. That's the view of the statisticians at the Bureau Of Labor Statistics (BLS) responsible for calculating the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

17. 92% of everything Wal-Mart sells, comes from China . Another 4% comes from Chinese owned companies in the U.S. or in 3rd world Countries.

18. Wal-Mart and MOST large companies, take out life insurance on it's employees, without their knowing. If an employee dies, ALL the insurance moneys go to the companies. (i.e. An employee making $18,000 per year, dies, and the company might make as much as $1 million. Most often these moneys, coming from what is commonly referred to as "Dead Peasant Life Insurance Policies", is paid out to executives as bonuses. A common practice, unknown by the average consumer).

19. Wal-Mart now averages a "profit" (not sales) of $36 billion per year.

20. Let Wal-Mart bail out Wall Street. If not, consider shopping someplace else.

If we closed all the Wal-mart stores would China go bankrupt?

I’m not sure I buy the bit about life insurance policies purchased for all employees with execs as the beneficiaries. That just seems way to cold. I also question the legality of such a practice. What’s the source of all these details?

Seriously? I don't shop there, but I highly doubt this one.

# 18 seems mind boggling ..are you sure of that.
Yep, that's B/S. Snopes has a report on that but I didn't find anything about them still doing it. current. They probably still are because they can. (along with a large number of other big companies)

While most of the first ten statements were true, that chainmail first started in 2008 and the recent figures are a lot higher than that now.

That is beside the fact we all should try to buy local products then from our province or state next our country or neighbour
We all want cheaper but that will be our downfall

On a separate but related note; did anyone ever read the book The Man in the Grey Flannel Suit?
It was written in 1955 and is about a guy who comes up with the idea of the Catholic Church insuring it’s priests so that when they die the church gets the money. 1955.

Now that part I can agree with, anyways.
For example, so much of our pharmaceuticals in the US come from China that to me (and Trump has said
it before as well) it pretty much becomes a national security/health issue.
It's not good that something that affects practically every citizens' well being be controlled by another, sometimes
adversarial country.
Hoping that might be a positive to come out of all this virus thing - that maybe more of that production will come
back to this continent.

.....some of this is all too accurate, the rest.....

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people and is the largest private employer, and most can't speak English.
18.....

a few others.....

Are pure dookie.

You guys are funny, you latch onto #5 and don’t mention #14. It’s not the employees in the store that you see.

They let a friend of mine go just about 2 months before he was set to retire from the company. He fought it and won (to some degree) but Wal-Mart said you can come back for the 2 months but your job here is gone and you’ll have to move to New York.

He waved at em with 1 finger and left and is working for another local better company!

I haven’t been in either local Walmart in 3 years and will not go back!

As I said earlier, those numbers are out of date. Walmarts own website says that current employment it 2.2 million worldwide with 1.5 million in the United States.
