Weather is nice compared to what we have had. Original date was pushed back to today.
My buddy's LS2 centrifugal supercharged 2005 Vette is running 9.1X in the 1320.

MOPAR is represented too, bigly! A number of "Hellcat cars" and a beautiful 9 second, factory block 426 Hemi, 70 Challenger. BEAUTIFUL wheelie!!

Well, to borrow and twist a line from "Top Gun".....
For my buddy with the yellow Vette:
"Those are some of the fastest quarter mile times I've seen yet, right up to the point where your LS2 blew up!"
He was going to make one last Test and Tune run. Got in the burnout box and spun up the RPMs, as usual, except when he rolled forward I saw he wasn't staging. Found a valve in the debris on the track, along with pieces of piston.
I have to guess it dropped a valve and went bad from there.

Note the piece of aluminum piston:

ouch

Tex

Nice name for a strip.
It fits...
My first YouTube videos were of my 89 Chrysler (Mitsu) Conquest TSi at NPR.
I left a Charger R/T (2008?) at the line like he was waiting on his Eggo waffles to pop up. I barely lit the win light when he crossed the finish.
Anyway, another night at NPR I was doing a horrible job of trying to get used to the Nitto drag radials I had just put on the TSi, replacing BF Goodrich radials. I kept losing boost because the Nittos were dead hooking and finding the right RPM launch speed/clutch/etc wasn't happening for me...
SO
I decided to plant the gas and dump the clutch at much higher RPMs than ever and my U-Joint decided it was not up for the abuse and snapped on the start line.
They said "no problem, come back and pick up your car when you can" and they had someone there 24/7.
