FDA approves the Johnson & Johnson single dose vaccine.

I saw 84% and 100% on "serious" complications.

NOT mRNA based like the others. More traditionally derived.

How come?
#1, I am not injecting anything into my body that was rushed into production.
#2, I have no co-morbidities, I am a healthy middle aged man.
#3, Covid is nothing more than a strain of flu virus that has been hyped up for political purposes. I had the flu in 2020, was sick for 4 days, and recovered.
#4, I don't allow the Government to run my life. They work for We The People!!

Interesting. I’m still on the fence. I can see a few of your points.

At this point I’m not sure if anything can be considered rushed. A vaccine normally takes about a year and half or two to make, do one year with people likely working around the clock easily satisfies that requirement.

Unfortunately, the government has been ‘running our lives’ as of late. It’s not mandatory so at least they aren’t forcing your hand there.

I still don’t know. I agree with comments made by many about all this is just another strain of a cold. Perhaps a stronger one.
This will probably anger some, but The measures government(s) world wide are taking to save an aged population is confusing to me. In my province the average life expectancy before all this was 82 years old, with covid the average age of death (due to covid, which how they calculate that is also questionable in my eyes) in my province is 83. I don’t see the problem?

Great to see the U.S. rolling out the vaccine. Canada is actually BEHIND you in rates.
Because we are in a very isolated spot we got fast tracked for the Moderna. Daughter got her second dose a few weeks ago, wife gets second tomorrow, I get mine Tuesday.
Only side effect so far is it gave me a twelve inch cock. A shame, because it was fourteen...

12” cocks! I just listed my house and am moving to the territories to rush a shot, mind made up. Lol lol. I always wondered what that extra 2” from 10 to 12 would look like
You were funny here! Hahahaa

So there are lots of valid points of view to discuss if the vaccine has been tested enough, the type of vaccine, if you want to take it, etc.

But to say that it is just like the flu? C'mon. 4000 people are dying PER DAY in the US from Covid. That's more than 9/11 and Pearl Harbor every single day and way more than flu. The flu typically kills between 34,000 - 43,000 people per year on average (source: CDC). So about 10 days of Covid equals a typical flu season from a deaths perspective. So far, 512,000 have died from Covid. Yes, sure, likely some percentage of those may be inflated due to hospitals wanting to count them as Covid, etc. Let's even say for arguments sake that 100,000 shouldn't have been listed as Covid deaths. But roughly speaking, Covid is 10 times more deadly than flu.

I'm with @Ironbuilt. I don't condone government overreach, agree that this "pandemic" is more of a political scam than a dire threat, and compare the fact we've been unable to create vaccines for an entire list of ages-old maladies (cancer, AIDS, etc.) for decades despite throwing millions at research over the years. I don't trust big government or Bill Gates, and know that pharmaceutical companies do not create cures ... because creating CUSTOMERS is much more profitable.

My friend posted this. It's one of many the last few weeks. I'll take my chances on a virus with a 98%+ recovery rate. You can have "my" doses.

Really? How many people do you know that use an iron lung or are in a wheel chair due to Polio? Deaths from Measles and Mumps are pretty much non-existent in vaccinated, modern countries, just to name a couple more.

In general, as it relates to this discussion (not specifically to Leanna - I am not looking to attack anyone but trying to calmly discuss and provide alternate points of view):
Look, I get it. Some don't want to take the new Covid Vaccine. That's fine and that is any given person's choice.

But a few facts to consider: Yes, pharmaceutical companies want to make good profits. We, as a country, want companies to work in a capitalistic free economy. That's the foundation on which the USA is built. But then it is suddenly a sin when pharmaceutical companies make profits? They become vilified, evil companies for some reason. Yes, there have been some "bad apple" companies in the past that have raised prices like mad. But most are pretty responsible companies that want to do good work AND make profits. Last year, drug prices went up 3.3%. The biggest increase in heath care is due to hospitals and insurance (read: law suits).
By the way, Apple makes 260 BILLION dollars a year, way more than all the pharmaceutical companies combined. But that seems to be OK.

We can discuss taking, or not taking, the Covid vaccine. This is an emotional topic and we all have our thoughts on that, but I humbly request we cite well established facts when doing so.
