do 413 engines with 2 4 barrels over heat

Shouldn’t by any means... if your overheating something is wrong.

You may want to check radiator, you don't really give us much information regarding car its in. If rad is old, may be clogged, because in the old days everybody used tap water and that had calcium in it which clogs the tubes. 2- 4bbls, unless lean would not matter. I have a Hemi with 2-4bbls and doesn't really change much except gas mileage.

ANY engine can overheat. A lot of factors play into overheating. Too much friction in the engine. Bad coolant flow. Insufficient air through the radiator. Poor timing...Etc. Two carbs in and of itself will not cause overheating. You need to figure out where the problem is, and it's not in the engine/carbs combo. Good luck.

Not only do the rads clog but so do the blocks. If the engine isn't fresh.
Pull a freeze plug and you may find most of the lower block is full of rusty gunk.
