That ashtray appears to be satin black, not textured as it should be

Actually it is BANG ON. BUT it depends on the guy holding the spray bomb !!

The top piece is the original factory finish, the item below it is the Rustoleum. You have to lay it on in light coats till you get the desired texture, you can't just shoot paint at it and expect the factory finish. The more you apply the coarser it will be and factory wasn't very coarse BUT it wasn't smooth either.
