Playoff Hockey

What a crazy Game 4 last night! Except for maybe 15 minutes, the Oilers played terrible. Passes to no-one, passes directly to a Panther player, WAY too many flip-in-the-air Hail Mary passes that just ended up giving the Panthers control of the puck...I think other than that 15 minutes, Florida was in the Oilers' zone the whole night. And to see Florida score a much-deserved goal with seconds remaining to force overtime, it was nothing but nerve-wracking for an Oilers fan.

Drat got the OT goal and that was amazing and reassuring, but I think any objective fan would say the Oil didn't deserve to win that game.

They better (and almost certainly will) bring a much better game plan when the series shifts to Edmonton for Game 5. We totally dodged a bullet in Game 4...

Why do anthem singers think they HAVE to personalize the US national anthem ?
Don't they know what the notes are SUPPOSED to be?!? I never seem to hear them f#@king with the Canadian anthem!
The disrespect to our anthem has me purposely changing channels or muting sound. Sad really.
I totally agree! I can't STAND it when a singer does that, doing vocal gymnastics to show off their range and think they own the song. I'm glad to hear this criticism is coming from an American. I think most of us in Canada hate this habit, but we also are starting to hear singers taking liberties with our anthem. Singing the anthem is NOT your opportunity to show off your pipes. It's a national anthem, sing it with pride and sing it the way it was meant to be sung.

That was an unbelievable game…. Edmonton now has to think about who to put in goal!
They def play different in front of Pickard. I’d be surprised if he didn’t get the start

I obviously hear your anthem less often than our own, but I was unaware of yours getting messed with too.
It's gotten to the point that I always hope for an instrumental version of ours. ANY armed services band recording is superior to ANY vicalist!

Def not as exciting as the last few games. Both teams, seems, are playing cautious

I'm a bit surprised at the uncharacteristically bad passing by the Oilers, and lame Hail Mary passes, tossing the puck up and out of their zone hoping for an Oiler to manage the puck when it lands on the ice, but most of the time just gets intercepted by the Panthers D and comes right back into our zone. Or maybe it's just that the Panthers thus far have been executing a system that is frustrating the Oilers' speedy offence. The Panthers passing on the other hand is quick and with authority. I'd hate for them to win but I have to say I like how they're playing. The Oilers have to do something to change their game plan if they want to drag the Panthers back to Edmonton.

Yep, No more hockey til' Oct.

Very disappointing, but congrats to the Panthers. There shouldn't be a Cup in Florida, but they executed their game plan flawlessly. Bouchard was terrible, his mistakes led to 2 goals against, and his idiotic Hail Mary puck-flips up in the air out of the zone, to be easily handled by the Florida defence and pounded straight back into Edmonton's zone, were extremely frustrating. When did this become a play?? They didn't do this much in the previous series, I only really started noticing it in Games 4 and 5...especially Nurse and Bouchard guilty of this play.

McD and Drat couldn't get much accomplished. But when you're a puck possession team and your breakout play is to lob the puck high into the air and hope someone gets to it first, that's going to be a fail more often than not.

Congratulations to the Panthers.
The best team won the Cup.
But it was dissappointing.

Congrats to Paul Maurice.
Couldn’t get it done with the Jets but does it back to back with the Panthers. Good for him!!
