I had my Daytona on Talladega and the Atlanta tracks last year during the 55 anniversary of the wing cars. I stored it till last week when I drove it home to do
Maintenance on it. I heard a strange noise from the rear end. Only 1 bolt was left holding the ring gear I’m lucky it didn’t lockup while on the track I bought the 3rd member used It has been in the car for 9 years. Thank God I didn’t crash it

Very fortunate that you caught it before anything catastrophic happened!

That’s pretty bizarre. They must of loosened up and snapped off.

Dang - can someone explain how that happened?

First thought is they were over torqued for the quality of the bolts . Except for 1.
Stretched beyond their limit at install, developing a crack in the threads.
