I thought Roy Scheider played a great role in the original movie. Richard Dreyfuss in his earlier years there too .

"Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water." Oh, yeah, who can forget this one, you seemed to look out on the water at the beach around that time.

This is the most memorable scene in the Jaws movies to me...

Happy birthday Jaws :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday: :bday:

..... I remember touring Universal Studios back in 1988 and seeing the set for some of the water scenes. The fake shark still looked fake then, but on screen it looked relatively real. It's all about perception.

I was 12 and we vacationed at the beach all the time because we were 35 miles from the gulf.
That movie freaked me out to say the least !

The day Jaws came out three of my friends and I drove to Towson Md. to go to a Aerosmith concert. On the way a storm front came through and wrecked the sound stage so it was canceled. So we decided to see Jaws at the local theater. It was sold out so we ended up seeing Tommy that was showing the same day. :fool:

One of my favorite movies. Never cared for the sequels.

I still feel funny going out into the ocean up to my neck because of that show!

I was in college and worked part time for a company called Retail Credit Company, which is now called Equafax. A lady there was going back home to England for a visit and asked me to return a book for her, said I might like to read it, the name, Jaws, a book about a shark she said. So I did, very exciting book, and I tried to tell everybody about it, with most responses being "Well, okay".
Three months later the movie came out and was the talk of the town for quite a while. I saw it several times, my favorite scene was when Dryafus swims up the hole in the boat side underwater and the head pops up. I would watch the audiences reaction and actually saw folks get up and run up the aisle towards the door....ha ha....good memories .....

Robert Shaw was simply awesome!

The first summer "block buster".
