1970 Charger carpet install: Where to position rear carpet?

I have most of my Kilmat deadener installed and will soon be putting in the new carpets. Quick question: As the rear carpet goes in first, where exactly should I position it before the front carpet goes in? A few pics of the correct position would be great, and show the correct amount of overlap that'll be needed when the front carpet goes in. Thanks!
 
Do you have molded carpet?

You place it on the floor and slide it rearward until it stops against the rise in the floorpan for the back seat to sit on.
 
I believe it's the same ACC carpet sold by RockAuto, but I got it from National Moparts, a vendor in Ontario, Canada. I just want to be sure there's the correct amount of overlap (underlap?) when the front carpet goes in. Thank you.
 
Yes, as R413 stated, if it's molded, just slide it as far back as it goes.

My idea is that for the front carpet, the most important reference point is where the accelerator pedal must be located, relative to the top right corner of the heel pad. When I get to that point, I'll make sure the pedal base is in the correct position, cut the rectangle hole and 2 bolt holes, slip in the rectangular gasket and bolt the pedal down. Everything else can hopefully get tugged into position once the pedal is in the right place. Is that correct? I've heard that a lot of people get the pedal in the wrong spot.
 
I also mark the center on both pieces of front and rear carpet sections as well as the floor/trans tunnel areas to ensure everything is square and straight as I lay both of them in before I start fitting, forming and cutting the door edge opening to fit.

Just put a carpet in that the heel pad was not correct in relationship to original carpet. Wasn’t worth it in my mind to return it for another and didn’t want to lift the pad and resew it.

I just did my RR, '69. The rear is easy if it's molded. Don't worry about the front not overlapping. Get the vinyl pad about where you want it under or just back of the brake pedal. I had to cut a square hole for the accelerator pedal base,then, just square the front up. Cut carefully, don't hurry! With the slip of a sharp utility knife, almost cut the tip of a finger off. Got lucky, the cut will heal.
