Hello everyone, I am looking for the original 426 Hemi engine and 4 speed transmission for my 70 GTX. The last 4 numbers on the pads should be 4378. The car originated in Georgetown, DE. It is B5/B5.

I thought I had a line on the transmission being put in a 69 Road Runner in the Maryland area of the DelMarVa peninsula, but I never got any concrete information on that. Any info would greatly be appreciated. A reward for information resulting in the purchase of the correct engine / trans. is available.

Thanks

The complete VIN may yield results. The databases several members have compiled over the years are based upon a minimum of the last 6 of the VIN.

Good luck with your search.

My vin would be:

0A134378 OR

0A144378.

The body numbers are different from the dash number by 10,000 so which one is on the engine and transmission, I do not know.

I have no record of either VIN in my 1970 Lynch Road library. The VIN on the engine/transmission should match your dash tag and fender tag. There are several documented errors of the body stamps being off by 1 digit. This would be another.

Might try contacting Barry at Hamtramck_historical.com - he has a list of things to help re-unite them with the cars they came from.
