But I found this read to be a bit of encouragement when it comes to the EV/ICE debate and whether or not the change towards it is necessary and warranted. Plus, a 4 banger is relevant for the everyday, average, say grocery getter/commuter vehicle, versus the heavy battery-laden EV offerings out there...Enjoy the read...cr8crshr/Bill :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:

Toyota is a good company, and the vast majority of their vehicles are great. Sure, they have had a few lemons....but probably not as many as GM and Ford who are supposedly world leaders and beaters.

I choose Toyota over other 4-bangers like Honda or Nissan any day. And I wouldn't even slow down to look at a Subaru.

Must disagree on one thing , Toyota is a good vehicle but I must add so are Honda’s and Mazda’s.Biught my wife a Mazda 3 years ago , thing was fun to drive and never had any issues.

I am a fan of Honda/Acura. If you do the regularly scheduled maintenance, they are bullet-proof.

As for Toyotas, the cars are soulless, but the trucks are stout. And the medium duty trucks (Hino) are good value for the money when you are whoring them out everyday making deliveries.

I firmly agree that Toyota products have no soul. I put off buying one for years, but finally got backed into a corner in 1989, when my wife blew the engine in her diesel Rabbit for the second time. I leased a new Tercel that was on the lot, the only time in my life I ever leased a vehicle. Five years later, the darn thing was worth twice the amount of the lease buyout. It was the first vehicle I owned that my wife could drive without issues, or breaking it. I replaced the Tercel with a used Camry after it failed Indiana emissions testing, and the sub frame started rusting. We ran the Camry for 205,000 miles, gave it to my daughter, and it made it to 295,000 before going to the junk yard after being T boned.

Finished up with a 2002 Lexus ES300, and a 2007 Lexus IS250. I bought the ES for $11,000 in 2011, and now have 236,000 miles on it. No repairs other than wear items. The money that car has saved me paid for all the GTXs. The current cars show every indication of outliving me and my wife.

If y'all actually knew the history of Toyota and how they dumped their junk into the US when those Jap imports started to emerge, you just might change your tune. Just a suggestion is all...cr8crshjr/Bill :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:
